Dry n warm again today up here, 4th gear power wheelies off a crest where it normally only lifts in the summer smile Why isn't every winter day like this?

Joining the M1 this morning on the slip road and find myself alongside a lorry. Just as I was about to accelerate to pass said lorry I heard what I thought was a 12 gauge shotgun being fired next to me. A split second later chunks of truck tyre were flying passed me at high speed. Thankfully I managed to escape without getting clocked by one.

I haven't checked yet, but I'm expected a few skid marks in the Y fronts.

The roads leaving my village and st and the best of times with pot holes, zero grip, but when its wet and frosty there were a few foot down moments but still managed to make it in on time!

Had that a few years ago when going past a lorry on the M11. Definitely skidmarks!!

Another cold, cold one this morning at 7am - the only part of me that got a tiny bit cold, 40 minutes into my journey, were my finger tips. A quick 30 seconds on the engine block at a set of lights sorted that out biggrin Muffs are awesome, will be bliss when I get some heated grips fitted too.

I was an hour later and found the my neck absolutely froze (just wearing rubbishy Oxford Comfy) but otherwise I was fine in summer gloves, a base layer and textiles. No heated anything...

The greatest hassle is having to remove all traces of salt from the bike when I get home. Right now my only other transport is a Caterham 7 (with nowhere to park it remotely safely)so I'm just hoping it doesn't get properly icy.

Is horrible out there today - ride safely people! Am suffering the trains this week as supposed to be going out after work, but hopefully back on the bike next week.

Oh dear. First day of rain and the car drivers are all over the bloody place

Other than it pissing down and suicidal drivers, I quite enjoyed the ride in today

It's pretty grim.... absolutely pissing it down all the way into London.

No exploding truck tyres this morning though, so can't complain.

Well... Ths morning was a bit wet. frown Wettest weather I've ever ridden in.

Tested out the waterproofness of my kit, water WILL find a way if there's enough if it, and it did. Crotch, arse, back of one knee confused cuffs and neck.

Didn't help that 8 out of the 9 traffic lights I go through in the first 3 miles of my journey were red, sat there in the lashing rain...

All good up north, dry morning no wind, rode in with summer gloves and no neck warmer/balaclava. This could change though for journey home.

Very wet this morning and was difficult to avoid misting up (needing to keep the visor open a crack all the time to stop it). My relatively inexpensive Richa two piece waterproof over-jacket/trousers kept me 100% dry though smile

Took the car in this morning as I was in a hurry (no time to get it out) and it was drizzly. Came back at lunchtime and enjoyed a lovely (if rather brisk) run for the afternoon smile

BACK ON IT!
So pleased, it's been a month, seeing as I had no chance to get near it over Christmas.
Was quite a nice ride in this morning, but I'm a bit rusty. Only one thing for it - More biking!

Out the door same time as yesterday and the roads into London were deserted. It was also very mild this morning although it was blowing a bit. I got caught out by a gust going over Wandsworth Bridge that had me a bit close to a car

I did get out here and there over december, but as of this year I've ridden my new (to me) FZ1 for about 2 hours and taken the battery out of my SV to keep it indoors on a trickle charger. I was planning to ride to my parents on sunday and swap bikes...my dad is going to sell my SV on my behalf, but I may list it myself for a week or two on ebay since the weather is looking not very nice and I might be waiting until feb before getting any further riding in.

Never sold a vehicle before so it's something I'm nervous about doing.

Cant wait for warmer weather though, looking forward to snetterton BSB, rides to Arundel, Rye and maybe a trip to wales over the may bank holiday, other dotting about here and there, maybe even join some of you at a trackday at brands and play photographer (did it once some years ago with a group of people and they liked my pictures, in focus and showing some speed and didnt cost them anything! Happy to spectate and take pics of anyone for no charge but I can't promise brilliance)

Oh and there'll be lots of polishing of my new steed. And I will take some time to brush up on my slow-control

Never is at home time. On the way in my only st bit is Staples Corner and either 406 or Edgware Rd. On way home though it's crap from the top of Gloucester Rd pretty much all the way to Staples.

I don't know how anyone commutes in London on a sports bike. I'm constantly weaving around vehicles and changing my line. The KTM is great for traffic, Thundercat would be much slower.

And I now hate buses. Awful, awful things. Taxis, vans, 4x4s are all bearable, but I fking detest buses.
