Wimped out today

Found the source of the one and only leak in my textiles this morning in the deluge on the way to work - my tousers 'fold' around the crotch area and this means a pool of water forms when it runs off my jacket, looked down this morning and there was about half a gallon of water sitting there my jacket and trousers have a 3/4 zip and the section that's not zipped is right at the front, so this water is getting up between the 2 layers and giving me a slightly damp patch at the bottom of my t-shirt. Any ideas? if I can get rid of this fold the water won't sit there. Maybe I just need to pull up my trousers a bit more!
I ride all year and in the winter on the vespA. I used to think those granny blanket covers (termoscud) looked stupid, but against practicality warmth and dry they win! Heated grips too, altogether it's like being on an armchair only with 50% visibity!!
Mind you my commute is only 14 miles into London.

Rode every day for last two weeks and will be next week too, car having work done.
I don't mind riding on wet roads, if anything it's refreshed a bit of my riding that had got stale. It's getting rained ON that annoys me.
Just bout a cordura bellstaff, my leathers have taken a hammering.

I wore Dainese 2 piece leathers (Racing Pelle jacket and touring type trousers) with just a Knox long sleeved Dry top beneath my work shirt. My ride is around 25 - 30 minutes. My Buffalo leather summer gloves were fine, maybe the fairings on my CBR600F help but I do not have heated grips or any grip cowls or anything. I'm not usually someone who suffers the cold much, more the heat!
I've just started a proper regular bike commute this last fortnight, 45 miles each way on a new to me R1100RT, mostly motorway. Settled into a routine now, always put waterproofs on over leathers. Winter gloves. Neck scarf. Heated grips ftw. Only got wet once when the seam of my waterproofs folded in half and didn't cover the zip - doh. Won't be making that mistake again. Other than that I'm always toasty warm all over apart from my feet and toes which were freezing this morning after waking up to a frosty ground - I've just ordered some silk base layer socks and snow and rock ski socks - hopefully that should warm them up a bit.
I do like commuting on the bike though, it's quite satisfying not paying bridge tolls (Severn Bridge) every day and also slicing through miles of stationary or slow traffic. Win.

Apart from my fingers getting a little chilly after 45 minutes on the bike (summer goretex gloves and muffs) I was lovely and warm. A thin fleece under my jacket, cold killers neck tube and A* SMX6 gtx boots (amazes me how warm these are in winter with normal thin socks and yet not sweaty in nearly 30 degrees) and I'm sorted. Without the muffs my hands would have been blocks of ice. Just need to get some heated grips on the new bike for that all over toasty warm feeling

Frosty up here, probably different in Londonshire as it's not England after all
Technically England, but pretty much in all other aspects operates/runs differently and usually has 'slightly'/fractionally warmer weather than surrounding areas Nice sunny day though so hopefully the dank roads will have dried up a bit ready for the ride home...
