There is probably less differences in naked bikes than faired ones over the same time. Only real I can think of is incomplete frames (no bars under the engine) which look wrong to me. I know they work but they look like the engine will fall out.
I like all bikes, I don't rubbish them or turn my nose up at them because they're old, new, faired, naked, crusers, off road, etc.

Yes, things like the rear ends on SRADS, ZX7-R's and FireBlades that have already been mentioned.

Naked bikes from the early 80's for some reason look younger to me than the early 90's.

My zx7r is 18 years old.

I know i am biased, bit it doesnt look half that.

And has a 'form' some modern bikes can only dream of lol.

And in front of the fat girl 2012 R1 looks almost slim...

Yes I think that 90s bikes look dated, it doesn't mean I don't still like them.
The ZX7R a friend recently bought looked and felt huge to sit on and made my bike look like a 125, doesn't mean I wasn't itching to have a go on it though, I always loved the look of the front end in them when they were new.

The original R1 does a good job of hiding its age, and with the Fireblade, although it's only 10 Years old I think the 954 still feels and looks modern.

I like the 90s bikes for their colour schemes more than anything.

Least favourite features are those funny frame things over the dash/behind the screen.
Precisely why I love my ZX7R, this was the bike I couldn't afford as an impoverished student at the time, but picked up for an absolute song a few years back. It does look a bit dated compared to modern metal, but I'm not bothered in the slightest. Still more than handy as a road bike and I will run out of talent before it does!

Affectionately known as 'The Shellsuit' hehe

There's no doubting that a 20 year old bike looks dated, although whether that is a good or bad thing is a very subjective question. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. Older bikes are great, nice big fairings to paint fag packets on biggrin

One thing is for sure, a well maintained and healthy 90s sportsbike , has enough performance ,even compared to a new sportsbike, to make the better rider, the "faster" of the two.

Yeah...its not what you ride, but how you ride it wink I went on a trackday on my 25 year old ZXR 750 and ended up in the fast group and was feeling good for the first few sessions keeping pace with most people on newer sportsbikes ...then I cooked the brakes and went into a corner too hot and fell off ...doh...still, Id be bored without a "project" bike in the garage to get looking smart again smile

The styling of the Blade clearly dates it, but I don't think it looks "dated" as such, IYSWIM.

I love the styling of this era of sports bikes, which is why I have one:

We've got the same bike in the garage, red/white/purp colour scheme. The front looks fairly modern to me, the tail and lights are the most dated.

Absolutley love though.

obligatory 90's bike photo.

I'd like an Urban Tiger, but they seem to be a bit thin on the ground and fetch strong money.

My 100 bhp Superbike of 1988.

My 100 bhp motorbike of now.

Although brilliant, the Triumph is not considered a superbike even with the same power of the Kawasaki but in a tiny package. Also the Triumph is a nice bike for learners.
