Greetings all,

I'm sure there are many that know and love Loomies on the A272/A32 junction down in Hampshire - a great biking venue for many years!

The sad news is that the family that run it are throwing in the towel on the business, and this weekend is their last - if you happen to be passing, drop in to see them for a final farewell…

Not good.

Are they closing because of lack of business or doing something else etc?

Something else. Changes to the tenancy agreement plus the aftershock of being done over back in the summer.

I heard their safe was broken into and a lot of cash was stolen.
It's a shame to hear it's closing this weekend, I have a lot of good memories spending time down there in the summer months.

I hope its a busy weekend for them. Very sad to see it go but if someone who has some spare cash and a bit of a business head knows about it, they should get in there as it must be a good bet!

Well… we went down this morning and it was absolutely heaving! But with a stage set up and screens saying "announcement at 2pm" I don't think anyone is surprised to hear that looms isn't closing, but changing owners!..

Went down at lunchtime and there were loads of people there. Heard 2pm annoucement - reopens on Tuesday next week, with the new owners. Still a biker cafe and they're keeping the name.

I missed that, I left about Midday. Good to hear it reopens, was wondering where to go next summer on a Wednesday evening!

There were a fair few bikes that turned up today!

So, nice weather, couple of errands to run and Loomies is en route so here I am having a burger and chips in the new Loomies.
Not much to say really. They've had a bit of a tidy up (the old notice board has been cleared) and rearranged the furniture a bit - think they might need to strip out one lane of tables because at the moment the chair backs are virtually touching.
Menu is much the same. It's busier now than I ever saw it previously on a weekday though (but then again there is a Honda Beard Appreciation meet going on) and the staff still seem a little rabbit-in-headlights but overall it's good to see it still open.
Could be good I reckon and might even take on board some of the previous feedback.

(PS I do wish they'd put the heating on - fecking freezing in here)
