After much fannying about, thinking about Fireblades, Gsxr 750's and streets I've stuck with what I know and bought another Triumph.
Went to see a street R on Sunday, Mckeens from here. So I pick it up when he gets the MOT sorted and washes the f
king thing. I did go to my local Honda dealer waited 20 minutes before a guy approached me (it was dead), I rocked up on a 17 year old ninja and he looked down his nose at me, he couldn't be arsed with me when I said I was interested in them. I pretty much thought, fk you ill take my £12k and go elsewhere.
so that's a Daytona 675 for the track,
A zx6r as a sort of back up everyday bike,
and the street for the weekends.
Handy that my Dad also has a Daytona and a Street, its always good to have a working built up model when yours is broken, or to steal parts after crashing one, plus one service manual does all 4. Also all my Triumph alpinestars stuff matches.

Love the Daytona but I couldn't have another for the road.the street is the better road bike, I looked at litre bikes but decided against them. 600 naked will keep the speeds down and is fun. Its completely different from what ive owned which has mainly been sports bikes. Just after something fun to trundle about on the roads

Should have bought a blade. Just FYI, some salesmen will let you look around and sit on bikes if you fancy kicking about. But they also respond well to 'Hello, I'd like to buy a Fireblade', if you went up to talk to them.

Shame you met one of 'those' salesmen. I had a street for a year which was fun, but wanted something narrower for 'London filtering'. Farnham Honda were kind enough to let me out on the 650F (Cheap/Naff), VFR800 (Nice but a bit too sensible), 600RR (okay) and then the Blade (silly).I'll run it 6 months if I don't love the street ill flog it get a blade.
Insurance was £1200 on the blade and I couldn't justify it as a commuter over the 600 so I bought one of them. For weekend thrills I would have picked the blade.

I went to my local Honda to have a prod around and see if I could get a test ride on a cbr300 and a fireblade. I had no intention of buying but gave it all the spiel of wanting to swap my bike etc. As soon as I walked in the sales man greeted me by calling me a young man which seemed condecending, I do look young but I am nearly 30. I could tell he had no intention of helping me out especially when I mentioned the fireblade, it felt as though he thought I was too young for one or couldn't afford one . I'll run it 6 months if I don't love the street ill flog it get a blade.
In contrast I went into bmw literally around the corner and for a brand where the stereo types led me to believe they'd be even less accommodating with a more upmarket feel, they were top notch. Approached me like I was a human, talked to me about all bikes and pretty much threw the keys to any bike at me for a test ride. I'd be more than happy buying a bmw bike now where as I was instantly put off giving Honda any business in future.

In fairness, you went in talking about a CBR300 and then asked for a go on a Fireblade...
