In all seriousness, enjoy the new track bike, bet it will be a wicked bit of kit when you've got it sorted smile

Christ that ABS system sounds complex and costly - not heard about that before. Still, I'd rather have ABS than not personally, and will be wanting it on my next bike.
We're supposed to take advise from people too stupid to know the difference between "your" and "you're"? biggrin

Haha, thanks mate. Love you too wink

If you decide to get the nemesis, let me know and I'll put you in contact with my mate who designed it.

Alternatively, IRC is meant I be very good for a lot less dosh

Mick (Nemesis) can also help you create custom slip maps for different tyres if you want something different from the maps in his library. He's very helpful with setup as well.

+1 regarding Steve's point about getting an integrated QS with the Nemesis TCS. It's seamless, although does need a good stab.....

Very nice. If I was to go to a 1000 a Fireblade like that would be top of my list.

What bits has it got on it?

Well executed, but there have been quite a lot of problems with it. I believe there are 14 different bleed points and issues where it can come back to the bar without warning. Honda quote 3 hours to bleed the system! The pump assembly is a £1400 part too and have a habit of going due to heat build up where they are located. Put me off buying an ABS'ed blade, but I guess until it goes wrong, no problem leaving it on for track work.
I've heard the horror story's, all I'll do if it plays up is bin it.

Fingers crossed it stays working.
Absolutely - first ABS system I've ever used where it's not intrusive on dry roads.

What made you choose a Blade?

John, with a QS it will be around £2k....

I'v only ever seen one secondhand, but that was from a 999RS ducati.

Give Mick Boasman a call and see if he can help out with any older units, etc, etc.?

The link below also explains why HM, Bazzazz, etc unless integrated into a TCS are likely to slow you down (after repeated TCS interventions)

John,

if you don't want to use the Nemesis QS, you an use any N/o or N/C type switch QS and connect it into the Nemesis TCS unit. Might give you some options??
As for the nemesis itself, I know I've banged on but it really is that good. And barring the specific bike wiring loom, you can move the unit between similar (4cyl) bikes so might be a way to justify it?

520 chain and sprocket set and some track bodywork
No fancy suspension or exhaust system? Are you sticking those on yourself or just leaving it as is?

I really don't like Kawasaki's and the BMW's are buggering up all over the place, the Fireblade was a no brainer, the 07/08 R1's are too old and the 09 R1's just don't cut it on track.
Nice bike and that makes perfect sense.

Fair enough - The Blade is the only one I'd trust to be as rugged over the years as your R1. That or a GSXR1000, but the Blade is just better in every way.

Don't get me wrong, my R1 is fantastic on track, it's just got old like myself and isn't as fantastic as the newer stuff.

My R1 handles great, its stable but quite hard to turn which wears you out, its also loosing out on top end (over 140) to the newer stuff.

The Blade will I hope suit me.

I will miss the R1 for the first 20 seconds on track then I will never give it a second though.
Be interesting to see what you make of it by comparison. When it's first outing, Spring next year on a Euro somewhere?
