It is little surpise Suzuki have lost a huge amount of market share.
There was Nothing new on their stand worth taking pics of, a couple of interesting specials though.
IMO the whole GSXR range needs a refresh, they're falling behind the pack now and with Guy Martin moving to BMW, they'll lose some important marketing..

Indeed! Spent a lot of time sat on that and really fell for it. Stunning bit of kit.

Those of you who have been, I take it no sign of any Husquvarnas?
May be in with BMW? I know a few of the BMW dealers also sell Huskys?
They do yes.
BMW sold Husqvarna in 2013 to Stefan Pierer, the CEO of KTM.

I stand corrected.

Went yesterday and really enjoyed it, my first show. It proved a great opportunity to rule in and rule out a number of bikes. I was bitterely disapointed by the Ducati Scrambler (couldn't get on with the 'cow' bars nor the very cheap construction, particularly of the Icon model) and the Moto Guzzi V7 II (also felt cheaply made with pegs/brake/gear selector that I don't think I could begin to get on with). The V7 was particularly disapointing given the nice finnish of the likes of the Griso and parent Aprillias such as the Shiver.

I was very taken with the Triumph Street Triple, espeically the R (with all the bling components I won't need but will look great on display!) and the MT07 / MT09. The BMW R-Nine-T was also a thing of beauty but way outside my likely budget!

It was also good to meet Jon from Racefit and marvel over the beauty of their exhausts, Ti paddock stands and rear sets. We were also impressed with Knox, their new CE Level 2 Aegis back protectors, exo-skeletal gloves and general attentiveness - ending the day with a complimentory G&T was a nice touch smile

I thought I'd given it away..

But is it believable that some BMW franchise dealers might still be shifting them? They were on the same stand/next stand as KTM at Milan though.

Why did BMW get rid of Husq? That Nuda 990 thing that guy on YouTube has is a beast, I thought they might sell reasonably well for what they were, with BMW parts and support..

Can't see what KTM will do with the brand if they already have a well established supermoto / motard / hyperdupermegamoto lineup..

If I were BMW I'd have kept them, chucked them some engines and gizmos and used them as a bit of a hooligan sub-brand to nick a few sales from KTM and the other supermoto makers.

ETA: Bit of Wiki info..

In July 2007, Husqvarna motorcycles was purchased by BMW for a reported 93 million euros. BMW Motorrad planned to continue operating Husqvarna Motorcycles as a separate enterprise. All development, sales and production activities, as well as the current workforce, remained at its present location at Varese, in Italy.[3] BMW intended to position Husqvarna as "the two-wheeled version of what Mini is to the BMW's car division".

On 31 January 2013 BMW Group announced that Pierer Industrie AG has bought full stake in Husqvarna AG for an undisclosed amount. The company is headed by Stefan Pierer, current CEO of KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG. On 1 October 2013, Husqvarna AG was renamed to Husqvarna Sportmotorcycle GmbH. It was announced that the company will be based at Mattighofen in Austria where production started on 11 October 2013.

Owing to the common ownership of Husqvarna (100% via Pierer Industrie AG) and Husaberg (51% via Cross Industries AG -> CROSS KraftFahrZeug -> KTM AG) by Stefan Pierer; Husaberg will cease to exist as a marque and will provide technical assistance to the newly resurrected Husqvarna brand.[5]

Anybody been on a weekday, is it busy ?

I was going to nip down one day this week. I'm not overly fussed though so don't want to bother if I'm going to have to queue to get in / out / park the car.

Yea I went today, went early as wanted to see the bike I have ordered in flesh. No queue getting in but got busy by about 11 on the popular stands. Couldn't get on the r1 and BMW stand seemed busy all day. Left about half 2 and drove straight out car park with no queues. Probably the least busy I have ever seen it but still busy...if that makes sense.

laugh I didn't say he was a pro photographer!

He's there with Norton so probably only had a brief chance to run around and grab a few shots between helping them set up.

Seemed ok to be. Got a helmet at a decent price, so happy days. Less stalls selling gear than usual and can't help but feel that again it felt smaller than it has in previous year.

R1 looks crap IMO, much prefer the RCV/H2R, but they're aimed at different markets so not strictly a relevant comparison.

Dropped my leathers off to get the crash damage sorted, and oggled some promo dollies when the missus wasn't looking. Spectacular fanny award goes to the MT09 competition stand run by MCN I think?

I went on the first day....twas a bit hectic. Definately agree with you on the R1......those lights look just as ugly in the flesh.....be interesting to see if it hit sales or not (obviously performance wise it will be a class bike)

For me the ducati's were by far and away the best looking bikes altho bit out of my price range so will look at getting an older S1000RR i think. Saw a couple of bargains clothes wise....but definately disappointing over previous years

Went on Sunday, great show but very draining with all the people there.

R1 was great looking and the paint on the H2 was awesome.

Saw a young girl knock over one of the Ariel bikes, luckily she got out of the way before it hit the ground. Not sure why, but Ariel were one of the only guys to not use the sturdy bike stands or mark them not to sit on - accident waiting to happen.

Didn't stick around to see the damage...

Sorry but why not, I firmly would have rubber necked that one.
