Do Not Go There !!!

As a beginners bike they are bloody awful. The position is too extreme for someone with little or no experience, the steering is heavy, the seat is hard, you can't get rear sprockets for them off the shelf.......and that's just off the top of my head
I've only ever seen one, and it was being push started...
Mitzy had one as her first bike. They look nice for a 125, but that is where it ends...

Plastics also shatter and are impossible to buy, parts are just generally scarce. I looked at one once, glad I didn't get it.

Good if you want to practise home mechanics, though.

I'm not 100%, but I think the engine is a Suzuki. Mitzy's was actually quite reliable

Keep seeing them go for peanuts guess thats why. Still very tempted as I only want it for a 3 mile journey to and from work and nice looking 125 bikes are few and far between yzf r125 is very nice but also expensive for what i want it for.

TZR125 - bit older and a 2 stroke, but much more fun than the xtc or even the modern yam/Honda offerings. Spares plentiful as well

I had one of those, very soft and a bit ugly. Was very reliable through all weathers (until it seized due to temporary oil starvation...)

Couldn't stand this two weeks ago. Now I want one in my life. Go figure as our trans Atlantic cousins would say.

Miss this so much.... Popping on the overrun through that ridiculous exhaust, single swingarm, perfect riding position, worrying about scraping the cylinder heads.

Stunning. Was in two minds when I bought my S1000RR after seeing one of those at the dealer...

That's a proper looking bike, its special in a way that an S1000RR can never be.

I've been lucky enough to own a couple a few years ago, and nothing has come close. Yes the S1000 is much faster and sharper but if you ever get a chance to try a HP2 then go for it as you can't help but smile when riding it.

I also had one of it's even rarer cousins for a bit... very rare.. and what a beast! totally didn't suit my riding style and I prefer something with a fairing but nevertheless, lots of fun!

I was very tempted by the HP2... As it was I thought it would cost too much (can't remember how much they were now??) so stuck with the RR... However I seem to recall after I got, ahem, carried away with the option list there wasn't much in it at the end! hehe

The obsession for the past couple of weeks has been 2002 shape R6's and K2/3 GSXR 600's... I have got quotes for both as just passed with a restricted licence and it is cheap enough.. and you can pick either one up for a decent price. And they both just look amazing!

First week of July as my birthday is right at the start, just in time for summer biggrin

Been saving up for it all for a bit!
