I think I would! Deciding whether to get a sports bike or an SM/Trailie next year is going to be hard..

[edit] did a quick autotrader search for DRZ 400's, only one going within reasonable distance to me, boooo also quite dear, whats the typical going rate for one of these?

Yeah decent ones seem to be few and far between frown Prices seem to change but looks like you can get a good one from anywhere between £2000 and £3000
Yeah thats the sort of money, but they have quite low mileages on them (a couple with sub-5000!)

Oh dear, I think I want one. I also want an FZ1...i know, I'll buy both, the FZ1 can have a fairing and be for long rides on sundays with the wife, the DRz will be for hooligan and fun and local trips, and the old SV will just be used as it always has been, commuting and tunnel hunts

yes

yes that's perfect

These 2 - if the Diavel had more range it would be a no-brainer, but I'm not sure I can live with 130-140 miles for group touring. I'd piss everyone off. On the other hand, the GS would be comfy but its an ugly bugger....

On the DRZ, I really wanted one. It was underpowered though.

I ended up buying an XT660. Its no good for green lanes, but if its just back road hooning then they're great. Brakes are great and with a few mods can really free up the engine from the choking standard emissions.

So, is this not about half way between the 2?

No prices - best not to ask.

For some strange reason, I really, really want a go on one of these

If just to experience a farty, air-cooled HD engine in a decent chassis, revving it up to the heady 6000rpm redline!

I've been obsessing about a Buell S1 for the past few years but they are very rare and quite expensive. Essence of biking IMO.
