perfeact for my commute!

the weight of the batteries isn't really a concern in a Harley...would miss the noise though

Well, I was obsessing about a matt black Guzzi V7 stone, however, after seeing paint deterioration on the petrol tank on the ex demo for sale at my local dealer I'm now a bit put off!

Mondial Piega. Anyone seen one on the road?
Yep, I've got one....
you lucky bugger. I see you're in South Staffs, anywhere near Cannock?
Pretty close!!
I'm moving there before next summer, probably Cheslyn Hay/Great Wyrley way...I'd love to see it in action. Ride out next summer, maybe?

At the moment I keep eyeing up a KTM 300 EXC, although that may be a bit much for my amateur abilities.

By next year I'll be obsessing over a cheap track bike again, nothing flash just something I can push my limits on without worrying about sliding it down the Tarmac

I find myself looking more and more at Dnepr (like a Ural) motorbikes with sidecars. One of the lads I work with offshore likes near Prague and they're available cheaply.
We've been discussing a 2000 mile trip to ride one home! Mid 70s Ukrainian motorbikes will be reliable won't they?
40ish bhp, based on a 1938 BMW. Top speed is around 70.

A mate of mine has a Dnepr outfit. He says it's dreadful even just for going to the shops. Make sure you blog your trip.

Mostly adventure bikes today, really fancy a Yamaha XT660z Tenere. Most own a matt grey one.

My old boss test rode one years ago. It pulled so badly to the left that he eventually let it pull itself into the curb, got off and walked back to where he'd got it from, telling the bloke it was too dangerous to ride.

He told him where he could find it and that he'd have to go get it himself as he wouldn't ride it any further hehe

ETA; I suspect that if you ever see 70mph on one, it'll be the last thing you ever see...!

As for understand it, top speed is practically closer to 50ish. Just remember the chair is on the 'wrong' side for uk (although still legal if before a certain year I think.

I want one too - the 2wd one with a paintball converted machine gun on the front of the sidecar please smile

I've never really fancied a litre bike but this is an itch that must be scratched one day.

Best looking Japanese bike ever built?

Had mine since 2007, can't see me ever selling it. Hardly ever ride it, it's only got about 10k on the clocks. Not worth a lot now and looks good even 12 years on.

I'd say R1 wise the 07/08 is the best looking.

Definitely, one of the best looking bikes ever, I reckon. IIRC though, 07 gets gold forks to the 08's black, so 07 wins for me.
