The RR of that era is a cracking bike. That one in the ad looks great to me. Not really much to look out for with them as they are bomb proof. The earlier ones have the non-sealed fairing lowers (an addition in 09 across all the models to cover the ABS mechanism, even if you didn't have ABS). That makes it easier to see any crash damage.

Only real downer is that the fairing panels are a complete bh to remove - follow the youtube guides or you will break off tabs.

I bought an 09 limited edition model new in 09, as I loved the colour scheme. The 07/08 produced more power but less torque in the mid range. Honda oversupplied the UK with bikes in 07 and 08, as the credit crunch bit and sales fell off a cliff. When I bought mine, there were lots of 07 and 08 models available at discounts (sub £7k), so it's not unusual to see 07/08 models registered in 09. They came out in 07, so it won't be an 06 version as that's a different model.

To this day, it's still the best handling, most balanced chassis'ed bike I've ever ridden.

Comfort was no problem for me - I did a 2.5k mile tour on mine, with luggage and didn't have any major issues with discomfort - certainly no worse that my 3k mile tour on the ZZR1400 this year (which surprised me).

I found it way more comfy that the Daytona 675 I was looking at buying in the same year.

They lap up abuse - I caned mine properly for 4 years and about 9k miles - never missed a beat. Also a superb wheelie bike once up.

Get one - you won't regret it! I only sold it due to the opportunity to buy a ZZR1400 at a good price which I thought would 'performance' tour better.

Love the colours.

But I'm a bit of a chav so that probably isn't a good thing.

Looks an epic trip! You were certainly shifting in that second video...

Pretty much decided on the RR, just a matter of which one now!

My mate had one of those and sold it last year. A guy came from Germany to get it.

Love those colours. They are classy not chavvy.

Small update - test rode this cbr 600f on saturday:

http://www.bathroadmotorcycles.co.uk/viewbike.asp?...

Very nice bike (based on my limited experience....!). Nice and clean, rode well, very easy to hop on and just go. I was surprised at how fast I got used to the sportier position, might be the same for an RR but I know this is more extreme...

Its up for £2995, he dropped to £2800 without much of a fight.

Whats the general thinking? Over priced for the mileage?

I see no miles on the page?

looks like a dealer website? 1 year warranty?

If that's the case, mileage isn't astronomical and it's in good nick, price sounds reasonable to me. Honda's fetch a bit of a premium over the other brands, but build quality on nearly all components do justify that. These 600 CBF, CBR F are very sought after for first riders and commuters.

Mileage is just over 30k, and its 3 months parts and labour warranty and a full year mot.
