Best time to buy bike gear (leathers)
Discussion
Obviously it's best to buy summer stuff in winter, but I ask as I am looking for a set of leathers and quite a few places already have decent ~20% sales on. Are post Christmas sales likely to offer higher discounts, or do most bike outfitters not offer much in the way of January sales?
I admit that it's may well be a common sense answer, but just asking as I am not sure exactly how the bike clothing market fluctuates and when is the best time to buy. I could wait to find out for myself, but want to make sure I dont miss out on a good deal
Looking at the RST Tractech Evo 2pc, if anybody has any experience of them.
Many thanks

There are some really cheap Alpinestars AS7 suits (triumph branded mind) in the bargain crazy thread, £350 for a one piece, rrp £1k, no good if you are a fat bd though

Thanks Tom, that's what I was after. Wasn't sure exactly when the "seasons" actually started.
Good idea about the Ally Pally, but apparently that has been and gone!

I missed that, it looks a fantastic deal. My next bike was going to be a Daytona 675, so it sort of makes sense...http://www.triumphfactoryoutlet.com/product.php/19...

I'm on my third pair of jeans having to send the first two pairs back because of a faulty zip. Touch wood the third pair seem fine, there is a noticeable difference in the way the zip is sewn in!
I'd guess RST don't have the best quality control.
The other thing from what I've seen so far is that there has been nothing massively different for next year. The majority of next seasons stuff I have seen is Colour changes/the same so I don't think there will be massive discounts on a lot of stuff.
Alpinestars kit won't be changing until spring either. They have released next years range but that only covers up until spring then next years proper range comes out.

That's pretty shoddy. I was going to go for them as they have excellent reviews in terms of quality and value; hopefully that's the exception that proves the rule.I'm on my third pair of jeans having to send the first two pairs back because of a faulty zip.
