Looking at the spec sheet for the bike with and without kit it seems apart from power the bike with kit is 10kg lighter and turning circle jumps from an ok 3.7m to a not so good 6.4m. Reasons for the jump in turning circle?

Will the bike be road legal with the kit?

Probably a combo of different triple clamp offsets and protectors to stop the handlebars etc hitting the frame.
Hope Cal has got an order in, might be the last RCV he gets to ride.....

Why don't Honda do something useful for mere mortals and redesign the Fireblade.

Isn't the Blade still the best sold sportsbike over here (Western Europe)? If so, from a business point of view, they'd be in no rush at all.

I'm with you though, keen to see what they'll come up with next.

I've always liked Fireblades, the 954 version I had is still one of my favourite bikes that I've owned, I don't think the current one is a bad bike at all, but it is a bit far behind the competition now, I think they must have a new one waiting in the wings for next Year, particularly now Yamaha have released a new R1.
