Ruined - looked at this pic & feel the whole thing is ruined by the McBoreman lid!

Joking, both bikes very nice indead but if Bell ever reproduced their MX helmet like they're doing with their road lid then this bike seriously needs it - period footwear though!

That's my lad having a blast and he wouldn't be seen dead in a 70's helmet! Although I love riding it on the road compared to modern bikes off road it's a real handful. Hats off to the guys who raced them across Africa, they were real men!

Cheers Pete, be good to get a few pics of you riding it on it's back wheel!

My 1978 Yamaha SR500. It's taken 11 months of the odd day here and there to get to this stage. The motor will go back in with a 505cc Wiseco piston kit and a few nice bits and pieces in it.
And in true 70's Blue Peter style - "here's one that we prepared earlier" biggrin

Just had a wee accident there!!!

All I can say is WOW, wonderful selection of some of the wildest bikes of their time.

I don't have bikes any more, but my time with them were all from this era. Bikes have never been quite the same since for me.

My mate still has a GT750 which is still in use and he's almost completed a nut and bolt restoration on a GT380 - in Gold.

Z900 is in my top 3 all time favourite bikes along side the Z1000. CBX is just MAD!

Thanks for sharing!cloud9thumbup

(Remember the FS1-E too, my next door neighbour had one and the duels he had with the AP50)

Just like to say thanks to everyone who has posted pics of their bikes from my favourite era of all.

Each and every one are totally wonderful and I recognise them all. It's made my day, you're all very lucky!!

Just made me sad I don't have one any more.

I've had in the past:-

TY50 (Don't laugh I was 11)
DT100
KE125
TS250
RD250F (I think it was the F - last of them W plate)
RD350LC
KH400 (wildest handling thing I've ever driven but still great)
Z650 - one of the best ever.
GPz1100 - last bike

Cheers everyonethumbup

Indeed, very nice collection and the Z900 in 'proper' green rather than the later 'Kermit' green... thumbup

Definitely, although it may be post Christmas as work as turned up to 11 again. frown

Your lad is pretty handy on the enduros - I would have thought he'd have been up to the task of some wheelie action for photography... or do you need the extra heft of my girth to help the old girl up??

When it comes to wheelies he's like me. Gets it up but can't hold it up. We both need lessons form the master. Are you off between Christmas and New Year?

A bit different but not too unique; there are many similar muscle bike cafe racer sorts on the NGW forum. I think mine is the first to have all of its plastic body work and tin work made from carbon fibre.

It was an outback bush bike 5 months ago.

I'm still finishing some of the mid and tail section parts in CF.
