Also still have these 2 less than mint basket cases waiting for my retirement to restore them.

They are now in a dry garage - this was the only photo I could find of them - a couple of years ago when having an extension built

When it comes to wheelies he's like me. Gets it up but can't hold it up. We both need lessons form the master. Are you off between Christmas and New Year?
LOL! I don't know about master, but I can give a few tips!! I wish I was off - working across Christmas period and at the moment, I'm even working Boxing day...

Jan will be better as I have a big project deadline for 31st Dec that's been dominating everything for months. I'll drop you an e-mail.

Always had a soft spot for 500 fours. That is a nice bike, mate of mine had one in black in the mid 70's.

Gorgeous.. Tell us more about the history of that one mate.
Why thank you kind sir! Well, it's supposedly ex Steve Parrish, and he is currently checking his records to confirm, but you know how it is with old race bikes, who knows, they all got changed about so much. This bike is an XR14, and has loads of ex Heron nice works bits on it, air forks, works swing arm and remote reservoir shocks, works tank and filler. Must be one of the few not painted like Sheene bikes laugh

My 1978 Yamaha SR500. It's taken 11 months of the odd day here and there to get to this stage. The motor will go back in with a 505cc Wiseco piston kit and a few nice bits and pieces in it.
And in true 70's Blue Peter style - "here's one that we prepared earlier" biggrin

Ha, except that one appears to have been built by somebody that knows what they're doing. Lossa Engineering went for a GSX-R600 front end on theirs, I wanted to stick with Yamaha and have grafted a '99 R6 front end onto mine. It might end up being quite a nice thing, still a fair way to go yet..

Common as sh*t, those Jotas:

Here's my unrestored, badly repaired in the '70's, Italian import Jota, with a replacement German 3CL engine upgraded to Jota spec (it's a long story!)

One day I'll get round to a restoration, but mechanically it's sound so I'm just using it.

I know a couple of guys with them now , probably my biggest regret not buying one of them back in the 70's
