Hi all, im looking to do my DAS in the new year. However, im not sure which course would best suit me. You obviously have a choice of between 2 and five day courses and you can also do individual lessons. I know this all depends on the individuals experience. Ive been commuting into london six days a week for the past 4 months doing 46 miles a day but Ive only ever ridden a 125cc or smaller. So my experience is minimal but I am confident on a bike. I have also just passed the theory test.
Perhaps there are riding instructors on here that could point me in the right direction or even better could recommend a riding school in the south east.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

hi
i had 4 months on a geared 125 and passed after a 3 day course which was split over a month
looking back i think 2 days would have been plenty, contact a few training places and see if you can 2 days then add on days if needed....however agree the extra days at a course price( i.e book a 2 day course but agree a price if you need to book longer)

Where abouts are you in the south east?
I was in a similar position, although I'd not been on 2 wheels for a few years I was capable of riding my brothers 600 round the yard. You should have more options than 2 or 5 days, the place I used gave me unlimited options, I was tempted with 3 days but decided a extra day would be wise so done 4 days, think it was around £600-£700 all inc. (fantastic instructor, top bloke)
Done it all over the space of a week;
Day 1 - Road riding
Day 2 - Road riding/Mod 1 practice
Day 3 - Mod 1/Road riding
Day 4 - Road riding/Mod 2

Evening!
I did das a few months and the biggest bit of advice is not allow too much of a gap between the various stages.
I went from cbt to passing my mod 2 with no prior experience and no riding between lessons / tests.
I found that I would lose a half a day of a lesson getting back to the level I was at the last stage.
So you dont have to do it in one continuous week but its probably the best!

True, but if the OP is riding daily on his 125, as long as he continues to practice the correct way of riding he shouldnt be too bad. The place I used was based in Aylesbury so maybe a bit far for you, although we actually traveled to Uxbridge to do my tests.
Good luck anyway, any decent school will be happy to help/accommodate your needs.

I did a 3 day DAS after doing nearly 6000 miles on a 125, the course was 2 mornings (8am to 1pm roughly) then mod 1 at 9am and mod 2 12pm on the 3rd day. Passed with 2 minors on the mod 2, clean sheet on the mod 1. Cost - £515 including test fees. If you've done a few months on a 125 you won't need a full 5 day course.
That was a place in Gillingham 10 minutes from the test centre.

These were the guys I used and are Bromley based. Friendly, professional and I passed first time (straight from a CBT). Well worth a look.
