Well I guess this is probably his last shot at a TT win. I guess he makes much more cash from TV now rather than racing and he's had a good go over the years.

I think he's being realistic. The tyco suzuki is an old bike now and he thinks it cannot win a TT so not worth the risks of pushing it to try.

The BMW on the other hand.....

He also seems to have crazy ideas of dakar too now so maybe looking to change things up

Yep, he probably came round to the fact that the suzuki just ain't up to it. Looking forward to seeing him on the bmw.

Hard to call him isn't it; one of the 11 'aliens' (as the other riders call them) to lap above 130mph; yet he always seems to be 'almost' there.
I can't put my finger on it at all; if you read the stats, look at his circuit knowledge, and the rides he has had; he should have won a TT.
He's had his share of bad luck, but just something niggles me that there is an ingredient missing.
In terms of commitment and desire to win it, he appears to be up there with Michael Dunlop and John McGuiness; I'd love to see him on the top step; I just have this knawing feeling he won't ever stand on it at the TT; I hope I am wrong!
Everyone is ignoring Peter Hickman in the TT2015 guessing game, surely the most amazing newcomer's performance; 129.1mph average and 11th place in the Senior, smashing Josh Brookes record; he must be the newcomer of a generation?

I can't imagine Guy Martin 'hinting' at anything, not his style.

I think from a recent interview, his loves are motorcycle racing and fixing lorries. He seemed to be pretty clear that he didn't want to be a full-time TV celebrity.

I'd wager that if he was planning on retiring he'd say... "I'm planning on retiring chief!" smile

Guy has had his best chance, if he hadnt binned it in the senior 2010 i truly believe that was his race. He has done well on the Suzuki but he never really had a chance as its an inferior bike.
I dont think he is ready for retirement and for one i literally cant wait to see him on a BMW. As already said he has everything needed to be 1st and his record in other road races (NW200 excepted) he has won quite a few. I remember him saying this year on an interview at TT2014 that he wont ride the 100% level that M.Dunlop rides at, i.e keeps some factor of safety in, whilst I doubt he would admit it, his big crash at 2010 slowed him down a lot. 2015 will be his best chance in years and I just hope he nails it.

He always seems to run out of tyre. Still got loads of speed and now the right bike too TT2015 could be his. Question is if he wins it would he then retire or want to repeat it?

IIRC he said once he wins the TT he's going to do something else like the dakar.
