Hello all,

First time posting so please be gentle. I'm just looking for some enduro tires for my DRZ 400 Im on road tires at 140/70/r17 and a 120/70/r17. Iv been offered 2 x 140/70/r17 (enduro) by a shop and told that will be fine. Has anybody ever come across a bike with the same size tires front and back? as Iv had a couple of dirt bikes and never heard of it. Thanks, Mike

I don't think so, a 140 front tyre would just be silly, I've never heard about it but I known very little about that type of bike so could be wrong.

The problem is probably that enduro tyres are just not available in the right size. True off-road bikes invariably have 21-inch front wheels.

Even if the 140 will fit between the fork legs, the handling might be adversely affected.

I'm sure the DRZ is available in other markets with 'sand tyres' - basically an overgrown Van Van.

Guess this is achieved by using the SM model wheels which I assume the op has from his description.

Might not be as mad as it initially sounds.

OP - if you want the off road look, surely someone like Maxxis does road legal super moto wets?

Thank you all for your posts and the lesson in grammar. I'm going to do a bit more research before going ahead with the tyres offered they are actually 2 x 120 not 140. It may mean less traction on the back but as mentioned above I'm more worried about the handling being adversely effected. I'm hoping to use them for green laneing. Thanks again, Mike

The 17" wheels will not be nice off road, regardless of wheels fitted.

It's now obvious you have the SM model. Could you look into fitting the non-SM model wheels - not sure if straight forward as forks & brakes are different or if green laning is a priority, then just trade the bike for the normal model with 21/18 wheels.
