I've had a couple of tvrs with very few issues other than a clutch slave cylinder go. Did 70k miles in them. I hope my new mv will be as reliable; )

As above, you've done really well, and I'm just talking about the TVR.

Although my S was pretty good, I still blew a few hoses and lost an alternator. My old man's Wedge, although immaculate, is a continuous battle chasing loose earths, replacing clutch pipes, fuel pipes, fuses and hoses.

I'm going in with my eyes wide open on this and the comparison to TVRs was not derogatory. They're hard work at times and have more issues than most other brands, but my God do they stir feels that very little else comes close to.

I'm getting the Brutale expecting it to go wrong more than one of the safe Japanese options, anything less is a big bonus smile
I had a 92 S3 I bought on 79k. I drove it as a DD, parked it outside in the North East, did 20k in it. No problems, not even a leak. I think I had to replace a hose once... I serviced it myself regularly. I was contacted a few years by the third owner (after me) it's on 120k or something and still going strong.

Had 2 Elises and had no issues with them either (aside from the first one burning in a garage fire, which was pretty terminal). Again used as DD's in all weathers and conditions.

I've run 2 Ducati Monsters (and still have 1) and had no problems once I had gone over them and serviced them. I still use the Monster as my main transport.

My BMW Z4 Coupe on the other hand..... It has had more problems in 18 months of ownership (all being put right with new parts, so who ever gets it after me will have a solid car) than all my TVR's and Lotus's put together. On a number of occasions I've had to use the TVR as the BMW has an issue.

92 - TVR Griffith, 56k, never failed an MOT driven in all weathers. Never let me down. Owned to 11 years and used as a DD until 2007, when I bought and Elise.

MV Agusta F3, covered 6000 miles in a year, no major issues. Tank replaced under warranty (even though it had expired 9 days before) shipped from Italy in 2 weeks. Ridden to Belgium and back in a hot day. Most I've ever done is 550 miles in a day.
Thats my style. Quirky car, quirky bike and getting your monies worth

No doubt; my impression so far of MVs is they are much like TVRs.

Great looking and wicked performance, but built to a budget and prone to failure. I'm fully expecting bits to go wrong with it, I just hope it is limited.

Did I read somewhere you had bought a Super Duke? I'm sure that will put the smile back on your face smile
Im 33 and pay £188 a year fully comp on my Dragster RR

The MV are well built in area's and have great parts but other bits really make you wonder! I know MV from what I gather have really picked up the quality over the last 18 months and the triple is the engine they are pushing hard

I still here of F3's being built poorly though, the original 2012's having bad fueling and my 2015 B3 paintwork is very thin. I recently changed the pipe to QD and found the standard pipe welding to be questionable to say the least

Either ways Im happy and Im sure you will be. They are different and sometimes that's exactly what you need for these kinda toys
