What happened? How come everyone didn't get out. Nice day here in west Yorkshire. Very cold wind but nice in the sun. Hope everyone had fun and no mishaps.

2nd to last, and yup... its full of mud, but damage is minimal nothing mechanical.

I was asking for it, overtook on the outside of Island, lost the back end . Bike snapped back, tried to kick me off, i stayed on... me and the bike went cross country, I fell off.

Everything is now muddy.

Here's the lowdown on Day 1

Whilst it was glorious blue skies and nice and dry in the main, the NW had some torrential downpours over the past few days, so there was always a chance of a hangover or two from that. The hangover was new tarmac at Cascades that was so dark nobody had a clue whether it was wet or dry, a damp and slippy Island and a patch of ice about 10 feet long and 6 feet wide right on the line for the exit of Shell. We think it was ice, it could've been white Rock salt to melt the ice, but let's say nobody was feeling brave enough in any group to test it out.

The track was cold, cold, cold and this meant umpteen red flags throughout the day in all groups, which really disrupted things. Matt (Smallboy) asked me to take someone out in Novices for a couple of laps in session 3 as there were only two instructors amd they were both out. So I dutifully did two unbelievably slow siting laps for Yazza's mate and then pulled in for a red flag. He went out again and 1 lap later was the cause of another red flag as his bike went a bit mental, spat him off and promptly shed every fluid it had inside it all over the track on the entrance to Old Halll before exploding in a lovely fireball.

That pretty well set the tone for every other group to attempt suicide at every opportunity. One or two more on here had spills, but I'll let them tell that story. Suffice to say the rules are if you fall off on track then you get dry bummed in the van. Well I must be good looking the way people were throwing themselves into the scenery, just to spend some time with me in the van wink

Others crashed and burned from other groups too. So much so, that I heard the best ever tannoy announcement asking people to stop crashing "as the queue was out of the door at the medical centre".

I blew away a few cobwebs and nice to meet some new faces. Despite the casualties I hope we get to do it again.

Hope the weather is kind to you tomorrow guys- be safe and enjoy.
Not to rub it in, but got bit sunburned today at Cartagena, day one of four done, long day, 24.C and beautiful - very quick ACU group including Joe Burns who keeps doing me(and everyone else) sideways....Louis Salom pitched up in his LUNCH hour and popped 25 laps in on his Moto2 bike on a closed track at LUNCHTIME.........stunning.
I had a day's coaching from Mike Dickinson and lopped 3 secs off my pb from this time last year with plenty to come again over next three days......
Loon's mate Wavey Dave Charret is here , the Mexican, proper top lad , great NoLimits instructor, says Hi to you who know him, am looking forward to a couple of outings with him before end of Sunday....
Ps guys banghead- do not go out on piss at 1pm on sunny afternoon and going to bed leathered at 9pm before a hot trackday....
makes it all so much harder than it needed to be ......until next time.......cheers,GB.
Glad to hear that Mike worked his magic. Say hiya to him from Neil Mckean please.

What kind of laptimes are you doing compared to Joe Burns??
Neil , I will,- Mike uses you as an example of progress and potential of the highest sort .....me- I'm doing no sort of lap times compared to Joe Burns, and Fergus, just -a 1.49, steady 1.50s, hoping for the next couple of days to progress...
John - he was 15, it was an R6 and yes, you remain Awesome - his words....!!

Glad you ( some of ) had a good day- enjoy tomorrow safely boys- cheers,G.
