I had a mechanical problem at the top of clay hill on the 2nd sighting lap, the front brake grabbed on and me and the bike went our separate ways, don't really know what happened but my hand was nowhere near the brake.

Disappointing to hear mate, it must have only been your first outing on it.

Has it got standard levers fitted.

Pleased to hear you seem to be OK which is the main thing.
Echo'ing the above. I know chinky levers don't always return, can't imagine they would do it on a second sighting lap though.

glad you are ok, my money is on sticking calipers! I saw a few bikes suffer from this early last year on track.

They aren't standard, they're Pazzo copies and the first thing that had Jazoli worried.

Just shows that saving a few quid in levers can actually cost a lot of money

No it hasn't,, but until I muster up the energy to get the bike out of the van (which I also crashed on the way to Oulton hehe) I won't know, video of crash here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl6V09J3Qxg its a weird one???

And thanks, I'm fine, bike is a mess though but nothing that can't be fixed smile

It'll be the pin in the lever pushing the M/C on slightly which when it gets hotter applies the brakes until it locks the front
I think you are probably right, I didn't really like the feel of the standard ones, expensive mistake.

I've seen that a few times now and I have two comments

1. As a positive, it didn't set on Fire

2. What the fk was the guy in front doing? One minute he's trying to run off the track at Hissy's. The next he's obsessively hugging the left hand white line.

Inters. How did I spend so long in that group?

It happened to Aky on his K5 1000 when he was trying it up the A1 from Alnwick, front started to dip at around 160 mph ish until he nearly went over the bars when it stopped in the slow lane of the A1 and wouldn't move.
You can hear the bike bogging down just before the crash, I wasn't really sure what was happening so gave it full throttle, it had stalled a couple of times leaving pitlane and was hard to start so just thought it was running like a typical Triumph, I'd not ridden the bike before today, total mileage today was 3.5, don't want to think about the pence per mile right now but I had a great day, and will probably be buying a bigger bike for track use as riding the R1 again was awesome.

Probably best it happened there at that speed than later on when you may have been going much quicker.

Yes, a bit, bike needs an engine cover, clip on, master cylinder and res, screen, exhaust, fairing mount, and god knows what else, also all the brand new freshly painted fairings are trashed.

But the bike didn't cost me a lot to begin with and I reckon it will cost me £150 to fix it with used parts, I'd have been properly gutted if I'd just spent several thousand on a bike but I started doing this with my eyes wide open and knew it could happen, I just didn't expect it to happen quite so soon hehe

Its not that bad really and its not put me off, I enjoyed my day out with all the crew again and am looking forward to Croft in April smile

Sounds like an eventful couple of days, it's not doing much to reassure me about croft.

I'll have enough to think about on my first time on track without trying to avoid you lot lying all over!

At least you are all ok and cracked on with it.
