Limp wristed, arthritic gays have more strength when pulling the lever. And the front end pogo's up and down when you blip.
You quite finished? I don't remember saying I was rossi, and to be fair I'm always behind traffic in that video. Whats the point on slamming the brakes on last minuTe
Firstly, wow tiger, its called banter, i'm sure you like to give it out a bit on here too. biggrin

Secondly, if your not sure what slamming the brakes on last minute achieves, maybe track riding isnt for you rofl
It was quite the tirade.

Perhaps I should further expand. The amount of times I nearly went into the back of someone in that novice group was alarming. I'm not saying oh look at me I'm great but I was obviously in the wrong group and there was a pace difference.

I'm hardly gonna slam on the brakes and fling it up the inside of a novice am I. Or leave it to the last minute then realise fk he's slower than I thought going into his arse. It's not racing it was a track day in the novice section in February.

I'd be fked off if someone did that to me on the track in novice group. So I treat it like the road. Maintain a gap and when safe overtake.

To be fair I'm surprised you didn't fall asleep on track, so good work!
It didn't seem that bad in novice on Friday, when I got used to the bike then the majority were easy to pick off. Learned a lot from following one guy though which was good!
Your attitude to it all was great, just came and had a great time while I was swearing my head off about my Italian steed hehe Looked a good buy your cbr too.

I appreciate that Ryan, thanks!
I was so pleased with the bike, it never missed a beat all day (not rubbing it in!! haha) for me and was the first time out for it so again am really pleased with how it (and I) performed.

I am sure you will gel with the RSV and iron out it's quirks!

what you get up to on a trackday is up to you, but stay safe.

Is there a theme running at Oulton here, as Loon was talking about action in his van earlier, etc. Must be the damp air.

Is that seriously what caused your very strange off ?
Yep, had it all apart yesterday from the master cylinder to the calipers and I cant find a problem with it, its all fine and like new (I'd not long refreshed it all) the levers were a night before addition as I didn't like the feel or lack of reach of the standard front brake lever, suffice to say the test ride when I rebuild it will be at very low speed.

Do what the previous owner did sell it and buy an 04 + R1
Haha I spent the whole two days looking around at other people on jap 1000s, 600s, & 750s thinking what have I dooooone.

I've always quite fancied one, but I'm not a fan. I know there's plenty of good riders that can extract the best from them, like StuB for example. But for me it just makes a meal of everything a jap supersport bike does without fuss. It seems to have all the drawbacks of a bigger bike and none of the positives.

You ok noW?

I always heard the stories of them failing. I never thought I'd be there on the day when they did

They're cheap st, I've had some that were ok, but it only takes one poor set to kill you. Quality control isn't a strong point.

Yes thanks Alex, I'm black and blue, my hip is sore and quite badly bruised from hitting the deck, as is my chest, and my knee, and shoulder, the good thing is I'd forgotten about the pain in my ankle from my recent op hehe

First crash in 28 years so it was overdue, and I'm glad it happened on track, back at work today getting on with it because I have no sick leave or holidays left.

Shocking that is. That could have ended a lot differently.

It is shockingly worrying to be honest.

So in future when buying Chinese

Happy meal toys - ok
Lemon chicken - ok
Brake levers - no

I have said many times about the pitfalls of cheap brake levers

Harris ones are less than £150 per set, you get a guarantee with them, parts are easy to get and a plus point is that they are made in England,
You could imagine them powder coating flaking off, wearing out quickly or even snapping but failing like they have is pretty worrying really.

Jazoli has been bloody unlucky / lucky. Pretty worrying that sort of thing could happen.

Worrying yes, but it's Chinese shyte so we shouldn't be surprised that it does happen.

The sooner this country starts tightening down on crap stuff from over there the better in my opinion.

No doubt I will get the response that the TV and many other appliances in my house are more than likely made in China, but all that is made under licence with much stricter QC

Exactly

It's not that anything failed, it's that it was made to piss poor tolerances with no doubt next to no quality control. Exactly the same as the one I had, apart from mine gave me half the braking power, not all of it spontaneously biggrin

Whatever you "save" on the purchase will be spent many times over on repairs, time and potentially hospital trips & pain.

Pazzos are expensive but they work and falling off will not be as a result of them.

I'm a great believer in you get what you pay for. If you are happy with dirt cheap brake levers, then expect to be eating the dirt

Absolutely agree. However most people consider the saving now rather than the potential loss later. But I do wonder how they rationalise how a 20 quid set of levers can be as good or even the same as a proper set?? Do they really think the makers of the decent ones are running around in Rolls, Super yachts and Rolex's??
Here in Africa you et to see an awful lot of Chinese kak and it is worse than you could imagine!
