I am sure you will gel with the RSV and iron out it's quirks!
Do what the previous owner did sell it and buy an 04 + R1
Haha I spent the whole two days looking around at other people on jap 1000s, 600s, & 750s thinking what have I dooooone.

I've always quite fancied one, but I'm not a fan. I know there's plenty of good riders that can extract the best from them, like StuB for example. But for me it just makes a meal of everything a jap supersport bike does without fuss. It seems to have all the drawbacks of a bigger bike and none of the positives.

Yep, had it all apart yesterday from the master cylinder to the calipers and I cant find a problem with it, its all fine and like new (I'd not long refreshed it all) the levers were a night before addition as I didn't like the feel or lack of reach of the standard front brake lever, suffice to say the test ride when I rebuild it will be at very low speed.
You ok noW?

I always heard the stories of them failing. I never thought I'd be there on the day when they did
They're cheap st, I've had some that were ok, but it only takes one poor set to kill you. Quality control isn't a strong point.

Yes thanks Alex, I'm black and blue, my hip is sore and quite badly bruised from hitting the deck, as is my chest, and my knee, and shoulder, the good thing is I'd forgotten about the pain in my ankle from my recent op hehe

First crash in 28 years so it was overdue, and I'm glad it happened on track, back at work today getting on with it because I have no sick leave or holidays left.
It is shockingly worrying to be honest.

So in future when buying Chinese

Happy meal toys - ok
Lemon chicken - ok
Brake levers - no
Brides - ok

They are ok yes but they moan too much in the sack, they are better than Japanese brides with their pixelated genitals.

Pretty worrying that sort of thing could happen.
Worrying yes, but it's Chinese shyte so we shouldn't be surprised that it does happen.

The sooner this country starts tightening down on crap stuff from over there the better in my opinion.

No doubt I will get the response that the TV and many other appliances in my house are more than likely made in China, but all that is made under licence with much stricter QC
Exactly

It's not that anything failed, it's that it was made to piss poor tolerances with no doubt next to no quality control. Exactly the same as the one I had, apart from mine gave me half the braking power, not all of it spontaneously biggrin

Thing is with cheap ones, if they don't fit you can buy another & still be quids up. Not sure I'd trust them on track as you're always braking hard, I bet they get an easier life on a road bike.
Jazoli's brakes locked on after 3 slow sighting laps.

It's great, as fast as a 600 and about as heavy as a bus.

I probably wasn't any quicker than on the Srad when it dried out, maybe in a straight line..!

Just wasn't comfortable at all, hate the riding position (not that my poor body positioning helps), weighs a ton and generally don't have any desire to jump back on it.
