Hi all, I'm new to the forum but was directed here from another forum!

I'm planning a trip to Sachsenring for the MotoGP this year but was after some advice.

I've realised it's pretty difficult to get a direct flight to a near by airport so I've decided on Berlin and then get the train down.

Where's the best place to stay that has decent night life etc?

Also what's the best way to get to and from the circuit?

We did the Sachsenring motogp last year but we rode over so I can't help re flights nor getting to and from the circuit (we just rode up and parked outside the circuit). Chemnitz is the place to stay (if the hotels aren't already fully booked).

Viewing at the circuit is pretty restricted so I'd definitely get a grandstand ticket.

I've been a couple of times but on bike.My advice would be to get accommodation as near to the circuit as possible.
Track is on the outskirts of hohenstein?? and there is a real party atmosphere on fri,sat night with lots of temporary
bars, bands etc.Loads of camping places around.

Went again last year and stayed in the Penta hotel in Chemnitz.Regular trains to the circuit but we got a minibus from the
hotel to the circuit for 10 euros each.
However I would not stay in Chemnitz again,it was dead at night.
Germany won the football world cup on the sunday evening after the GP.I hate football but went to watch it on a large screen
in a park, beer tents, food stalls we thought this is going to be a right party after they won but within half an hour the place was empty. We walked back to the hotel thru deserted streets,a strange place
