It doesn't really have "aliens" if we're honest. That's reserved for the MotoGP guys at the head of that pack. A lot of these would struggle to hold their own in WSB, let alone MotoGP. Look at byrne's or Kiyo's track records in both those series compared to their shared 7 titles in BSB.

She's never had top equipment and I think she deserves the ride for the amount of effort she's put in to staying and competing in a male dominated environment. Brits are normally good at cheering for the underdog, we should be supporting her as she's potentially blazing a trial for the female teenage riders just starting out who could one day really shake things up.

I'm going to be cheering her on, despite her being quite close to being a Scouser!

Honda will be chuffed shes generating so much conversation on internet forums as will be the TV companies ...so the marketing plan is working already wink

It will be great if Jenny inspires a generation of hot young babes to take up biking, I would like to see lots of women in tight leather during the summer months smile

Good luck to her. As long as she's not too busy to MOT my bike come April...

Obviously she is a billion times better than me on a bike. I'm st even though I love it so much....

But I don't think the girls should be riding with the men. This thread proves it, it's all comparing them to the men.

Not sure what exactly you are saying here. Are you suggesting she's not good enough to race with men, or there should be separate male and female races?

Either way it's the thoughts of a dinosaur.

Maybe your just a little scared that the 'weaker sex' are going to whupp your sorry arse on a bike?

Fair play to her. I wish her well

Fabulous news not only for BSB but also to women in motorsport.

We have role models for women in most sports , now we have one in motorsport.
If it gives the push for even just one woman to ride a motorbike, she has done the job.
As for racing with men , game on, same reason I would not do a woman's only track day
I want a level playing field

THIS GIRL CAN !

Seriously?

Why don't you think 'girls should race with men' ?

Look at some of the race snakes in bike racing , I'm sure she's stronger than them , she's hustled a bike round the tt which has to be more phyically demanding than a bsb race.

She knows the rules , she knows what she's up against now she just needs to get on with it and make the most of the opportunity.

Why???

Do girls dainty brains come over all kittens and rainbows above 30mph or is it their poor navigational skills that might cause a kerfuffle as they go round and round looking for parking??
Truth is, Ladies races are untenable due to low numbers. Was tried here, but with 4 entrants it became a bit meh.
If Jenny has the stones and ability to mix it with the big boys, fair play to her, their ego's shouldn't be wrapped in cotton wool for fear of being beaten by 'A Girl"
There's a couple of young female National riders coming through over here and it's quite funny to see a National R6 cane it past peeps with her pony tail blowing in the wind behind her....

Shakey got his, because he's a cockney geezer and very PR friendly. Kiyo got all his (excluding his current ride) because he's a Honda protege,
I agree with a lot of your post, Loon, but I'm not convinced by the above part. Shakey go this rides by being very, very quick. He got his first decent ride in BSB (I'm ignoring the Harris SP1 year) by absolutely walking the privateers cup the year before. He has got rides since then on the back of multiple race wins and championship wins.

Kiyo started getting his good rides by winning the then ultra competitive Japanese super sport (I think) championship. He was then thrusted into the limelight in MotoGP before heading to the UK.

The point with both of the above riders is that they got their rides by being both PR friendly. marketing friendly, and most importantly by winning things. I think it is great that Jenny is getting a shot at some good results on a decent bike, but I think it is a massive disservice to guys like Shakey and Kiyo to suggest that the situations are similar.

That wasn't that serious.

Having had a quick look at the BSB site I can't see a result for Jenny (nor reference to her). Did she not start the races?

She got hit at the Melbourne Loop by Ralf Lo Turco crashing and damaged the exhaust, pitted, they straightened it, rejoined behind the safety car probably too eager to catch up at the restart and crashed, too much damage to fix before race 2, so she didn't start the 2nd race.

Byrne never did well in WSB because he had the wrong bike and team.
He's very capable of running with the WSB pack though given the right kit, just look at his double win as a BSB wildcard entry into the 2003 WSB at Brands Hatch for evidence of that.
