Pete
I saw one at that today which started me thinking........................

Also saw 2 x GSX-R 1000 LO models. One 11 plate with 8000 miles and loads of trinkets at £6999 and the other was a 10 plate standard at £6499.

Offered a straight swap for 1198 in standard trim ????

ZX10R would need to be PCP though.

I've seen a new GSXR1000 L4 for £8.4k and a non-anniversary new 10R at £10695. Also brand new Aprilia RSV APRC for £10799 which has to be the biggest bargain ever!

There are 0% deals on the 10Rs at around £12k which will likely work out a lot cheaper than PCP.

I thought you were lobbing out the 1198 for the slabby projects? You change your bikes more than me!!! hehe

I think the 0% deals on the 10's are only on the 2012 models which there seems to be a glut of

I think the only difference is the electronic steering damper though

ETA.........I did have a memory lapse. Been looking at just about every dealer up and down the country and it fried my mind

Slabsides are both gone to their new forever homes. SWMBO politely requested that at 57 perhaps I should reconsider the wisdom of going racing again and upon reflection she was correct. So of course she is now feeling guilty and that then allows me the opportunity to add to the stable.

I am in discussions to swap the SRAD for a 2003 Benelli Tornado just because I have always liked them which is mad I know.

The MV is sacred and she outright banned me from taking it on The Nurburgring Trip. Saying that I needed to take a "disposable bike" something like that old Ducati [lol]

However I am not actually certain that the 1198 is really me. Although to be fair to it I do need to do more miles on it. Similarly a few years ago I famously had an RSV-R Factory for all of 48 miles and declared "Don't like it, want that one" and promptly part exchanged it on the MV which 5 years later I still have.

So then back to a useable everyday sportsbike. Do I buy a post 2010 used GSX-R because they are so roomy and user friendly or go the whole hog and buy what I was going to in Oct and get a 30th Anniv ZX10R

1st World problems eh ?

The 1198 takes some getting used to, but it really is me. Massive massive stomp and still a mental top end, epic noise, wheelies, beautiful and an event every trip. Its chassis may not be the last word in agility, but once crankedover and on the power, nothing comes close.

GSXR vs ZX10R? I don't doubt the 10R is great, but I can't get past the looks. It's also very close to the MV in purpose. The GSXR is a superb bike and great value at the sports tourer end of the superbikes - As a fast touring, great value, bullet proof bike, that you wouldn't be precious about, I don't think you can go wrong with them. For me, the lack of rider 'aids' is a bonus too.

i have 0% also on Fireblades
The 0% on Fireblades is at near RRP though. With you being able to source then £2k cheaper for cash, the implied APR is not so attractive.

i did delete my post as i noticed the 0% had been stopped, but as you say it's near RRP

God i am so tempted to go out and get a brand new bike on PCP, but i have a perfectly good bike in the garage, so just can't do it yet.
