So I have googled this to death and have still yet to figure it out.

My handlebar control 'pods'(?) both swivel and move freely after going about for a few days on shaky potholed roads. I have looked for a fastening screw/allen bolt but have yet to find one. Does anyone know how to fix this please as I am not sure what to do.

+1 A picture paints a thousands words! Perhaps you can unscrew the holding and wrap it in duct tape to increase the friction? So it's not so loose?

I know what you mean, the switch gear would have had a wee peg/spur sticking out from it, this then locates in a hole in the handlebar to stop is rolling back and forth..Over time these pegs snap off, commonly when the switchgear is taken off and then replaced without the peg even being noticed(?)

Some people create another pin/peg and araldite it in place, drilling another(larger) hole in the bar if needs be...some(most!) people wrap some tape around the bar, the swichgear will then usually, with varying degrees of success, now clamp more firmly to the bar.

As above, there will be two screws at the back of the 'pods' as you call them, unscrew these, remove switchgear, wrap a bit of tape around the bars and refit.

I've gaffer taped them into place for now and plan on epoxying them into place when I get my hands on some.

Do not use gaffer tape. This will leave a gummy residue on the bars

Use low tack masking tape
