LOOK!!

We could argue about this into the early hours until we've both run out of breath. You asked me a question. Ive answered your question. I have put my facts across given in the best of knowledge. If you dont accept it I dont really care, I'm not getting to a ridiculous debate about you and your RACE Practice.

Maybe Dyno results are speculative but it's a consistent measure in near repeatable conditions. Its the only number WHP that people can usually go off and it's generally widely accepted.

Im going to leave you to it and be safe on your bike.
The reason I say speculative is that if you are a half decent dyno operator, there are a plethora of ways of fudging the results to favour one bike or the other.
The track is where the BS stops. I see S1k's with this mythical 200bhp struggling to drop a ZX or 1199 or RSV4, all bikes that on paper shouldn't stand a chance. If the dyno results/printouts are to be believed, how can this be???? ;

Presuming these Bikes have been dyno'd during by the same operator / conditions. See Graph. All test being the same. Before I end up getting sucked into a BHP and Scientific BHP I'll leave you with this dyno picture. As you well know on a track, Hp only really becomes relevant 4th 5th 6th gear. In some cases on smaller twisty tracks, 600cc times are not to far of the 1000cc times. Good luck with the Racing. All the Best.

And a race team will tell the truth?? Give me a call when it happens!
FACT is DJ numbers, which are the ones bandied about are as useless as saying you get paid a zillion quarks a trimester.
Whilst the DJ dyno might be measuring 200 somethings, they ain't Horsepower as defined by the scientific method. So to start wittering on about 200 BHP at the crank or at the wheel is self delusional.
Oh, and if you really think a Superbike only looses 12 BHP through the powertrain you are away with the fairies.

There was a comparison review in one of the UK mags last summer- think it was Superbike if I remember correctly, they put lots of different bikes together to compare on track, Triumph 675, ZX10R, Ducati 899+ 1199S, there were others but the point I was getting to was they had the HP4 and the RSV4 Factory, the Aprilia put in the fastest lap time of the lot- ok it was only a gnats hair quicker than the HP4, something like 0.2 seconds but it surprised the testers as it was losing a good 5-6 MPH to the BMW down the straights, when it gets to these levels of bikes it just shows losing a few BHP isn't going to make you slower, I'd take the fantastic handling and great drive out of corners of the Aprilia over the 15 more BHP of the BMW.
I've not ridden an HP4 though have only heard good things and I loved my S1000RR.
