Looks very clean that mate and on the original end can?..if its a good price, go for it.

Get them carb inlet rubbers checked, im sure most will have been trimmed away now to make it "full power", have the carbs fettled and she'll fly.

OP - got your pm, that's not my old bike.

Your one looks good, correct can (1990 was the only year to get a stainless silencer), rare colour too - very nice.

Podman, graham ; thank you both . The bike sounds perfect , it's completely stock and sound perfect for my needs .
Going to view on Wednesday morning and renting a van and taking readies , just in case you understand . Just in case wink

Ok not just in case because unless that's not the bike I'm viewing it's coming home with me !

Oh gents , what can I say ?
Thank you so much for the replies and the tips , I didn't expect anything on a Sunday evening . I'm even more excited now .
So I've combined my list and all the helpful comments to compose the following :

Check brakes
EXUP valve
Forks
Wheels
Corrosion
Plastics condition
Seized rear end
I hear the clutch baskets can break
Obviously I'll do all fluids , pads , tyres ( to the new sizes recommended above )
Full service
May stretch to rebuilding the forks and rear suspension at a later stage if needed

However the bike was dry stored for 13 years until the current owner bought it and most of the above was done so I am very hopeful .

Pictures show fantastic condition cosmetically but the tyres are different compounds and need sorting but bike has new chain , had service , mot , carbs soniced and set up , new clutch .

Owner is an enthusiast that just doesn't ride anymore , knew his EXUPs so I feel like it's worth the journey to the ends of the earth . Just need to hire a van and make my way down on Wednesday ,fingers crossed then job done !

Thanks again for the replies( positive and not so ) feel free to chip in if I've missed anything out or just to share some EXUP love/ hate .

Keep the pics coming too , I can't sleep with excitement .

Best

Wt
I would make sure you add a fork rebuild to the plan asap, the oil will be knackered/gone even after just sitting that long & no decent fork oil = st front end.

Old Doomy needs a regular use bike . Don't need a new , expensive bike . Have experience of ow01 , fzr600 and yzf but never owned an EXUP . I remember these being "bike of the decade" several decades ago ( lol ) and have always really fancied one . I think I've found a minter and have agreed a very very good deal depending on viewing .
Any EXUP love , experiences or tips on what to look out for on here please ?

The excitement is killing me !

I had one back in the early 90's , good bikes , very smooth delivery very fast for the day and probably still is more than fast enough

Never let a mere technicality get in the way of a good ribbing! Keep meaning to go and introduce myself to his new GF, just to really keep him on his toes!

My dad had one of these when they came out and he let me have a go (I was about 18 at the time). My one memory other than how brutally fast it was (I had a 350lc) was how putting the brakes on mid corner used to make it stand upright. Frightened the bejesus out of me! Good memories though, my mate raced one bought direct from Yamaha made for the tt in loctite colours. I think they hardly did anything to it to make it race ready it was such a good bike.
