So after my first couple of track days I'm no longer the slowest in novice. This has created a new issue, I can't get past people. This is due to a combination of my lack of skill, confidence and bike. Whilst I'm held up in the bends I can't out accelerate to pass on the straights which is annoying and frustrating.
Currently on a Daytona 600, what would be a good choice of replacement...up to £6k. Hopefully I will improve the two areas. I'm thinking 06 onwards R6.
You could change the gearing as an interim improvement, much cheaper as wellCurrently on a Daytona 600, what would be a good choice of replacement...up to £6k. Hopefully I will improve the two areas. I'm thinking 06 onwards R6.

Anyone at Knockhill last night? Seriously lucked out with the weather. Something wonderful happened, after nearly 5 years riding and maybe 10 trackdays, I've learned to get my knee down. It happened before but only by accident, I tried it towards the end of yesterdays session and for whatever reason, I can just do it on demand. Certainly doesn't make you quicker but it's a great feeling!
Also managed a 56.7, 2 whole seconds quicker than my best lap for the last 5-6 trackdays there. New Brembo RCS master cylinder is the reason. I can't believe how much later and harder you can brake with these!

Congratulations. Great time. And a great feeling going into Duffus with your knee down. Or the hairpin in the wet. Gave the consumables a good thrashing at a very hot Brands Indy on Monday.
First time with the big boys in inters/fast group. Much better than novices, should have done it sooner.
Hope the chap who's GSXR ended up in a lot of pieces in the last session is ok. He looked it but the bike didn't.
Not sure if they've change photographer this year but the two days I've done the pictures are not as good as previous years...

Anyone thinking of doing brands on weds (31st?)
Im 70% complete rebuilding my butter built gsxr gearbox. If I can between taking my boy racing and being half sociable with the family get in the garage to complete it I'll get there early morningThey dont normally fully book mid week but I still need to get the clutch in, cases, oil etc
Then fit it all in the bike and get all the fairings back on

Come and do Brands Hatch on 21st then - more track time is the answer! That chap at Bedford on the old Fazer 600 was a lot quicker than both of us and on an inferior bike.Currently on a Daytona 600, what would be a good choice of replacement...up to £6k. Hopefully I will improve the two areas. I'm thinking 06 onwards R6.
