I did two and a half sessions today. Didn't really love or hate the first two sessions, but was well off the pace for where I was last year. The third session wasn't going too well and then to top it all off, I got whacked hard by someone whilst I was cranked over in the fast left handers (Starkeys and Schwatz). Anyway after a bit of grasstracking at silly speeds I somehow survived it and after the same thing happened yesterday I decided enough is enough.
My head has completely gone and for those who play golf, it's like getting the "yips", or for darts players "dartitis". I simply can't approach a corner, or go round it without thinking I'm going to crash. As a result I'm coasting around the track, not attacking a corner, braking way too hard and going round them at walking pace, but totally tensed up and staring at the ground right in front of me. It really is bad, hence why I'm walking away. I know exactly what I'm doing wrong, but can't make myself do it right.
Have you thought about doing some trial riding or off road stuff, just something different, lower speed, less grippy and no real expectations. I had three offs in quickish succession and one of them hurt a bit, a few other things happened and I just stopped racing. I never made a conscious decision I just fell out of love with it. Knowing now how my brain works I should have tried off road and I would bet I'd prolly still have my bikes. Had the same dip with cycling, raced, got really into it then, blah. Raced MTB, got my ass kicked but it fired me back up to get back on the roads, seems good again now. It's just a mental thing, you're obviously a bit fed up so get back to where you enjoy it rather than worrying about how good you used to be or the stopwatch, at the end of the day unless you are earning a living from the sport it really doesn't matter. Anyone who goes out on track, at whatever pace is ok by me.My head has completely gone and for those who play golf, it's like getting the "yips", or for darts players "dartitis". i agree with the suggestion of getting something slower with less cornering capability for a few trackdays in the intermediate group ,will kill the "i am going to die " at every corner sensation stone dead, and put a smile on your face loon, after all ,that is what is all about for every biker bar those getting paid to win.
Loon just needs to do what he has to do
He needs time off, he needs to stop posting on here and have a clean break for a while or forever if that is what it is going to take
It is no good at all suggesting he does this that or the other because he doesn't want to do any of it
He didn't look well I my eyes at Croft which also sort of put a bit more of a dampner on things for me
Loon for me has gone past the internet friendship thing and I consider him a true friend so whatever he decides to do it will be the right choice for him
He knows and I know we are only a phone call away
It says something for me when I travel 3 hours just to catch up with him in either the car or my bike
What ever he decides he has my full support

Reckon I'd be able to get any heat into the tyres to ride properly at all?
I was at Donington in the pouring rain a few weeks ago, and a bloke in front of me went out on Supercorsas. I hung behind him for a lap to see how he got on, and I was surprised to see he was absolutely fine, no major sliding or any big moments. It's made me feel a lot more confident about using them in damp conditions, so I'm sure you'll be fine at Anglesey unless you're running slicks.bass gt3 said:

It did put a huge downer on the days I joined him with and everybody really at croft. You looked fked, I wasn't happy, loon obviously. Everyone was doing their own wee battles and so much different from others I've attended. Damp cold track. Weird feeling in the pits.
I think hebegb summed it up. When he asked him and loon Said that's it. He just accepted it and said you know best. He talks a load of sense that man. Unless it's about hot dogs

Im getting a new pair of Rosso Corsas fitted tomorrow so in theory should have more wet grip than the Super Corsas.moanthebairns said:
I never offered any advice at anytime how the fk could I what do I know . I had my throttle half jam open at croft (I've since sorted the problem)
What was it then? And Loon knows I'm taking the piss, the big girl, hopefully just concentrating on road riding might make him a bit faster, I do get fed up of waiting around for him.

I suspect that with it being twisted and some crud in it never fully returned. it wasn't a case of loons where it opened full. It was only up to 6,000 rpm. That's all I can see that's wrong.
