Has anyone even asked whether these are hot or cold pressures?
The answer is to ask the tyre guy at the trackday.
What tyre guy... The answer is to ask the tyre guy at the trackday.
Cold pressures obviously as not using tyre warmers.
Crikey....painful.

Tbh I set them cold and monitor during day keeping eye on tyre wear ... Then I send Loon hundreds of text messages talking about Tyres like a pro ...
And I usually say, stop sending me pictures, as you're just destroying a tyre for no benefit! It should look like the tide has just gone out on a beach. If it looks anything different then something is wrong, but that's a combination of a lot of things and few can be fixed with a quick fiddle. I've finally got a rear tyre that looks perfect after two years of trying to get a good setup. The set up is useless in the wet. The front is still shagged.

I thought you hated Cadwell!
I love it ... and I suspect that's because it is the closest track in the UK that compares to the road ...
Really?I love it ... and I suspect that's because it is the closest track in the UK that compares to the road ...
I had that down as Pembrey due to the really shyte surface
Happy memories a 4 1sts first race weekend, then a second to take my title followed by a win it or bin it second second race, to take another win

Loved Pembrey, really technical after the hairpin, big balls required for last 2 corners. Have to agree, surface is far from perfectly surfaced, but it is plenty grippy IMHO.

I enjoy it ... It's a basic track but it's a good crack with the lads. That hair pin is a pain to get right ... Happy memories a 4 1sts first race weekend, then a second to take my title followed by a win it or bin it second second race, to take another win
Spoke to K tech - service of front forks and rear shock, plus re-sprung rear shock for £320. Seems good to me. Doesn't seem worth it to re-spring the front forks as well as that would take the cost up to £500+ (those are from a K8 750 so not so shagged).
Unless someone is going to tell me different?

Are the standard ones suitable for your weight though, have you set the rider sag?
I never did, seller said it'd been set up for him and he was approximately the same weight. I know I know before anyone says. I'll basically take whatever K-tech recommend, as they know what they're doing better than me (clearly). Told them my weight and what I'm looking for.

£500+ seems a bit strange when they sell a pair of front springs for around £85, and they will need to disassemble your forks to service them anyway.Unless someone is going to tell me different?
Why not measure the "rider" sag on the front forks to see whether you need new springs, rather than rely on what the previous rider mentioned he had fitted (have you seen a receipt for any parts?).
K-tech can't set the preload for you properly without you being there anyway, so you'll have to measure the sag on both ends when you refit the shock and forks......
I'd probably get work done by one of Ktech's agents rather than them unless you are a race team from what I have anecdotally heard. Caveat Emptor.
