I did Rockingham about 4 or 5 years ago (international circuit), in the sunshine, loved it. Found it a track I gelled with straight off (unlike Donington), but then I do prefer left handed bends. Getting instruction early on helped because the lines to take weren't obvious (to me). Just wanted to balance out the reviews of this weird and wonderful track!
Here's a lap of Rockingham. Left, left, left, left left left, left. Left. Left. Right. Left left right left. Lefffffffffffftttttt. Left.

Left, straight line chicane, hairpin left, right that you can't see, right that you can't see, left, left, lefffffftttttttt, left, hairpin right, left, right left chicane, left onto banking. Rinse and repeat.
It's OK as a Novice, although I had my first track crash there on a drying track. I went back last year to catch up with some mates that I hadn't seen in a while. I won't be going back. If it's wet don't go out, you will crash.

Me and 6 other folks I know all in novice/inter (middle group) see you there
Brilliant! I'll come say hello Also at Silverstone on the 5th of August if anyone is there. Been on a bit of a track day buying spree!
Look out for my fireblade (pics on the riding a sportsbike through the shires thread), a green TL1000, a red VFR750 and I'm bored of listing bikes already

Nope. In fact the only bikes you'll ever see there are BSB
I guess the north Gloucester Road racing championship change to cars for that round then? Fastest circuit in the UK IIRC. Would probably cause more than a few dramas if they ran regular TDs there.

Whys that then?
anyway, just got off the phone to Colin at 100%. Tomorrow could end up being expensive!
I called them too, but ended up using K-Tech direct as they did same service for £15-20 cheaper. Was told 100% would send the shock to K-Tech anyway. anyway, just got off the phone to Colin at 100%. Tomorrow could end up being expensive!
But, I did have to chase K-Tech 3 times to pay them and get my shock and forks back.

Doing my first UK trackday for about 4 years on Sunday - aaaaargh, how much hassle are they compared to the Euros??!!
Anyway, can anyone tell me what the (electrical) power situation is at Mallory and what time they are likely to open the gates?
Power is st. There are a couple of power points dotted around the paddock. Take one of hose round connector things and a long lead!Anyway, can anyone tell me what the (electrical) power situation is at Mallory and what time they are likely to open the gates?
Gates open early IIRC around 6:30

Are you drugged up to the eyeballs and ready for tomorrow?
I Managed to sell it. Unfortunately I still can't even go to the toilet so don't think there's enough drugs in the world that could get me on a bike right now. I can't even pick my new bike up yet. On the plus side after 4 days of not moving from the couch it's perfectly moulded itself to my body and I've escaped doing the washing up all week...every cloud...Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
