Sounds like a good day gwm and nice to get videos of you passing mates. Although I though mtb was in the fast group now? He looked like he was struggling in that group on the video?

The Windows shattering is crazy. You not notice a gigantic pothole or anything?

He warmed up by the end of the day, but he didn't like going out on luke warm tyres and took a while to get up to pace I think. I'm sure he'll be on in a few days to give his account. Like he said on the day, the last time we were on track together (Donington) he was 26 seconds faster than me and at first at least I was hounding him smile

Nope the only external factors we can think of were a truck passing us on the right and we'd just went under a bridge. It was just before the Kendal services so a reasonably high elevation, but let's say it was pressure related that's some pressure to smash both windows!

Well done Gareth. Proud of you mate. Even if overtaking Alexandra is like beating the fat kid at a sports day.

I like to think I had a little part to play in this by tagging your bike at Oulton, and now it just wants to go faster

Cadwell 3rd August

First time in Inters - was worried I would be too slow and feel out of my depth but on the day I felt ok. Slower than most but stayed towards the back so I was clear of most other riders.

New EBC sintered pads, and the refreshed suspension were a massive difference! I initially went out first session without checking rider sag, and the rear felt like it was skipping around when I was accelerating around Chris Curve. Checked it next in and it was sitting about 40mm, adjusted it to 30mm and felt good after that.

My best track day so far, took me a couple of sessions and depending on traffic, but I could get 2:01 consistently (timed through that RaceChrono app but good enough for me). 3 red flags through the day, but generally I found the standard of riding far less varied. Think I'll try book into Inters from now on, as it definitely made me ride better too.

Video of one of the sessions before lunch:

2:20 is the guy who was using the chicane as a short cut to overtake people, before being told off.

But more importantly, 3:10 is me over taking MTB at Coppice biggrin (he has already text me saying it was bks laugh).

Tyre wear - so close to the edge!

Oh yeah, and this happened while driving down the M6 in the hire van:

Driving along at 70mph when both front windows blew in with a loud bang. Still no idea what happened and I now have the joys of a fight with the hire company over fault and liability!
Nice once GBM looks like a top day
mmmm shocking about the van windows

The abuse I'm getting from him as well! laugh

Not wrong mate, taking your advice about the suspension and brakes has made all the difference as well smile

Looks like a cracking day out. Seeing as you are slow as fk that must make MTB slower than me wink

Must book myself onto another.

Yep, I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Just be kind and slow down for him on the really fast corners, don't want him getting spooked and falling over.

MTB has been moaning like fk, so here's a quick clip of him over taking me at the chicane:

Is that a warm up lap? You're all weaving about all over the track looking like you're trying to get some heat in the tyres (which doesn't work anyway) wink

Ha, that's me being pretty smooth! Though I did find it difficult to pass people that were only marginally slower. Not fast enough on the straights and not confident enough on the corners to get past. The only time I could was on the brakes, but always hesitated as I had images of getting cleared out by someone not seeing me.

The full final session. I stayed behind MTB until he was warmed up and he cleared off. And since I know MTB is reading, this is the last one I'm uploading tongue out

Cadwell isn't easy to overtake when there's not much speed difference as it's so narrow. I just use the end of the start / finish straight, into Park Corner and down the hill, other than that it was a lunge and looked like one of us ending up on the grass.
