You do realise that admitting to having trouble finding a gear lever will around here will instantly see you banned from riding anything over a 125? Do you really think you should even be on a sports bike? More training for you sonny...

Well what a day at brands. As a circuit it's impressive. compared to places like Angelsey, cadwell and combe. just for the sheer size and what they have there.

We did the Indy circuit and I knew it was going to be small but it was Tiny, but still technical.

Met Adam on his 1198S (lovely bike) and his Dad on his K1300S. Lovely people and look forward to seeing you again.
Andy VRX turned up as we where packing. Sorry I did not have more of a chance to talk. And hope you had a great evening

Well Only Adam overtook me on the day. And he's bloody quick.
My hips (due to the issues I have with them and op's) really felt the stress of riding on track but still painkillers and such helped me through.

The Blade did bloody well as per normal. Hoping pics to have up soon and need to look through my go pro vid.

Loved Paddock Hill. and a ideal place to overtake. Late braking into this only caught me out once when I missed a gear. Adam was behind do thought I was going into the kitty litter. But managed to keep it out.

Another major fun corner was Clearways into Clarke Curve. 2nd into 3rd then into 4th around there and doing about 12k at the end of Brabham straight. No idea what speed I was doing as I covered the speedo and glad I did. When Adam said he seen about 155MPH before braking when following me I think I would have braked earlier just because I could have seen the speed and chickened out

God I love trackdays. And I know i've had a work out the following day
Hey Matt, great to meet you and the other guys yesterday, it was a brilliant day of riding and the social between sessions made the day even better.
Honoured to share a garage with the minor celebrity that was your 'Blade yesterday too wink

For my part, I thoroughly enjoyed my first serious trackday on the 1198s. The bike was an absolute peach all day, the chassis giving me confidence to get it on its ear, nearly wearing through my toe slider (got better once my BP was better) and then the engine monstering out of corners chewing its way through a supercorsa by the end of the day.
Absolutely love the bike.

It was good to meet you guys yesterday too and it's always nice when you go home without any major incidents!

The evening session was great fun and with four 20min sessions for £75.00 I recon they are excellent value for money. The red mist seemed to come down in the third session with a guy catching a massive high side in front of me coming out of Clearways and another going straight on into the gravel. I was sharing a garage with a nice guys called James and on the following lap he ended up in the kitty litter at Paddock trying to avoid a rider who low sided in front of him. A part from a bad case of gravel rash both James and his bike where OK. The other chap was taken away on a stretcher so I hope he's OK.

All in all a great way to spend a summer evening.

Anyone seen the app "motorlap" a gps lap timer? Some guys were using it next to me at Silverstone and it seemed fairly reliable. Just for anyone wanting to time their laps or has a slight interest to what times they are doing.

I used the RaceChrono app at Cadwell and it tallied with video times. Simple to use so I'm happy it's good enough for me (interests sake only, not racing Loon wink )

Remal - were you wearing a PH t-shirt?

I saw someone in the sign-in queue yesterday who was. Green - was that the novice group? I was in Inters but binned my bike fairly early on in the day.

It's easy to say with hindsight but he should've let that other rider go. That rider was right on the edge and his lines looked a bit too tight with that much lean.

In the view of the experts, what went wrong there, too much lean on too tight a line? Looks like his brake light was on, trail braking gone wrong?

He was still on the brakes faaaaaarrr too late into the corner. He should have been back on the gas at that point of he corner

A shame that, for James, as he simply didn't need to fall off there - just a case of target fixation , the guy crashing and running into the gravel wasn't actually affecting him if he had just looked where he wanted to go instead of following the line of the crashed bike and ultimately, and inevitably....following it in . Again, always easier to analyse it in hindsight ....

As Neil said, should have finished his braking prior to entering and the a smooth wind on exiting the corner.

I may be slow but that looks like a case of way to hot followed by oh st...

Looks like he was trail braking, got too close for comfort to the bike in front and grabbed a handful

All braking should be finished with by the time you tip in to Paddock

Which rider are we talking about here? I was commenting on the rider in front who fell off for clarity. The camera bike, just target fixated as hebegb said, which was a shame.
