Looks like he was trail braking, got too close for comfort to the bike in front and grabbed a handful
All braking should be finished with by the time you tip in to Paddock
I agree with Tony. It looks like he caught up with a slower rider on the start/finish straight and choose not to pass. But then didn't scrub off enough speed when braking so that when he followed him into the bend but had to keep braking to stay behind him, which made him loose the front. All braking should be finished with by the time you tip in to Paddock
He should have just braked harder before tipping in and then stayed off the brakes in the turn. Looking at his brake light, he brakes as he comes under the gantry, then let's it off, then brakes a second time and let's it off again, before braking for a third time as he hits the apex.

Which rider are we talking about here? I was commenting on the rider in front who fell off for clarity. The camera bike, just target fixated as hebegb said, which was a shame.

Yep, I'd rather not be braking whilst lent over in Paddock. Off topic, Fleegle, were you at Brands today? All braking should be finished with by the time you tip in to Paddock

Hard not to fixate when you're trying not to run over someone and their head is bouncing off the track! I guess that comes with practice, think I would have done the same as the camera rider :s Was the crasher-in-front ok?
You’re right, it is difficult not to fixate on a crash happening in front of you especially when someone is bouncing along the track in your path. In this instance, it was probably a lack of track experience and he wasn’t able to keep focussed. It happens at all levels though…..only yesterday I saw the same thing happen at Brands in the Powerbikes. Some guy had his front end tuck halfway down the hill and ended up having quite a tumble followed by a rider who had just entered the turn and was obviously looking down the hill, saw the crash and somehow managed to forget to turn and ended up coming to a very quick stop in the tyre wall at the topTrack experience counts for a lot, but it still happens depending on the situation

Ouch not good. I went late into paddock but earlier than the chap who went down first. Managed to let go of the brakes and make the corner just. RemaL said:

Actually, I think the camera bike had half an idea some bad st was going to go down too, his line changes either to switch to the outside of the ensuing mess or to run wide himself, moments before the R1 goes down.

So whilst I was banned I went to Cadwell Park at the start of the week. After a 7 hour drive I had to pitch my tent, which from previous attempts was a disaster but I got a hand from some guys I met from 675.cc
I then started drinking and walked the track with a few ciders
I hadn't eaten since lunch so I had a cold sausage roll and some more drink. I tried to go to bed but I couldn't sleep. Constant late night arrivals, car alarms going off or needing to get dressed to go for a pee. So I sat up and watched Mad Max whilst getting pissed in my tent. I saw 2am at least.
I woke up hung-over to fk, done a few sighting laps, tried to remember the track and then found out id put my clip on hangers on the wrong side, so Id now turned my 675 into a Harley sportster. It took most of the morning to change them over/set them up inline. During that time GWM overtook me when I was sat behind someone, I felt like going home. I realised at this point I had to get my finger out, this wasn't on. Once my bars were fixed and my hangover had gone I was fine.
But by Christ its tight. I read George go on about block passing, or passing into the hairpin, fk, that will be right, some of the lines were mental.
Anyway, the day went on and after people continually coming up to me saying I needed to change my rear I did.
fk me though I nearly had a heart attack, I asked parkitt how much to change a pair he said £12.50 loose or £25 on. fk it here you go I cant be arsed taking wheels off late at night you can.
That will be £50 they said after it was done, wtf, you said £25, "no that's per wheel". I felt royally robbed, sly bd.
I got a terrible nights sleep but I laid off the drink. I was so cold I woke up put another layer of clothes on then wrapped my towel around me then got back into my sleeping bag.
The day was a right off in terms of track time, 7 reds in 6 sessions, some crashing on the first lap, having no tyre warmers id spend two laps warming my tyres up for someone to crash then have to come in and sit for 10 minutes. It was a utter waste of a day. I don't mind people crashing but all fking day, and on lap one. I also got fed up with people coming to me and saying "I got pass you that time id been trying for ages" for me to go really I never knew you were behind me. Constant dick measuring.
I grabbed an instructor, or at least I think he was. He was fking hopeless, we done two pedestrian laps with him in front, he looked behind once. Then he waved me through. Shortly after it was red flagged. Now I'm st, but you don't expect to loose an instructor riding around in inters in a lap his words were, "you overtook a bike and I couldn't get through and by time I did you were away, but you kept that gsxr behind you, you were quicker than him". wtf I thought.
He then proceeded to tell me I didn't lean off enough on the first two laps or the red flag lap, these were the only ones he saw. He then explained to me the merits of doing so, and how my riding would improve. I just sat there going, yeah sure, yeah, oh alright. I couldn't be arsed questioning why the fk id have to lean off for a warm up lap or a red flag, nor as to why he couldn't keep up with me. But he wasn't wearing No limits leathers so maybe he wasn't even an instructor. Most of them turn around mid corner pointing as your trying like a bear. He rode round like he was on a DAS lesson.
Anyway, after continual crashes I missed the last session I'd had enough.
I loved the circuit, its great, but it was fking horrible with the traffic and constant reds. Id do it again but id need tyre warmers, I don't like going out on cold tyres. It was fine once you gave them two laps but you then had to fight your way though all the traffic that had overtaken you.
