I've cancelled Oulton unfortunately as I've got too much on now. So that's me finished with trackdays for the season.
I finished before youKyalami is due to re-open soon, now owned by Porsche, totally refurbished. New layout, start to finish re-surface and revamped pits.
It's going to be epic!!

Why on earth did Porsche go to all that expense for Kyalami? As great as the circuit is, what's the pay-back going to be?Kyalami is due to re-open soon, now owned by Porsche, totally refurbished. New layout, start to finish re-surface and revamped pits.

Well Redback911, holiday booked for next Monday...log onto MSV website to book Snetterton for the 28th as it appears there are spaces free, but once you go to book it says the day is sold out!
O well, maybe onto the next week.
Oh noes, just saw your post. That sucks. Going to be great weather tomorrow. Have fun at Silverstone on Weds!O well, maybe onto the next week.
I cannot seem to log onto the NL website and book my spot, so fingers crossed i will be able to book on the phone tomorrow, but knowing my luck it will have sold out!
Be carful on the RSV4 at Snetterton, it should hopefully be well run in by the end of the day!

Trackday booked for Silverstone tomorrow, very excited but also a bit nervous and gonna be a cold trip there at 6.00am. Blue/white GSXR1000K2
Redback911, how did you get on at Snetterton yesterday? I hear there were a few 'major offs' on spilt oil from a previous vintage track day, also being an open pit lane it was a bit manic?

Great day had at Silverstone, beautiful weather.
I really struggled with the circuit and even now I would struggle to visually take myself around the circuit. It was huge and complex in parts. What really confused was the 2 pit straights at either end. One had a tight entry and fast exit and the other was the other way round, so I always found myself being cautious taking into account that I had a 70 mile trip home. I think instruction on lines would be beneficial, there were also no markers for braking points, apex etc ( which some find useful)
In my 1st session I was following an 06 R1 into Vale ( I think ) and his sump plug fell out, bounced and hit me in the shoulder, covered me in Oil, the bloke shat his leathers but somehow stayed on.
The speed of the groups was also good, ok you had some really slow riders in the Novice group, but not many. I got well and truly shown up by a guy on an SV650 and I think he actually whopped everybody. There were also a couple of guys on GSXR750ww's, one of the guys was approx 80 years old in 1970's leathers and he was scraping the pegs and overtook me.
All in all a great day and worth the experience, some lovely kit there, 3 month old RSV4R with full carbon fairings, 1299's, R1M's you name it and all with loud pipes which all seemed to pass. In Novice and inters you don't even have to have a noise test.
They were also setting up for the BSB, so major construction was ongoing.

Around 13/14mins you can see the sump plug bounce and hit me and the oil cover the lens and everything else.
It was shut for around 20mins and luckily off the racing line and not on a corner.
A bit nervous about opening myself up to a barrage of abuse/banter, it was my 1st session and I did not have a clue where I was going, and I still don't!

I'm amazed you stayed on if that was the case with that guy's R1! Very lucky. I really struggled with the circuit and even now I would struggle to visually take myself around the circuit. Grab a copy of the MotoGP games (assuming you have a playstation/xbox,..) then learn the lines. That's how I learnt a fair bit, that and an onboard cam from the MotoGP riders off the MotoGP site videos (they may be available on youtube). The lines people (and instructors) took varied compared to all the MotoGP boys which I found fairly interesting. Once you learn the circuit it gets a lot easier. I still struggle with Vale (pig of a corner!), getting village and the loop flowing smoothly and turning into Brooklands too early.

As you can see, ALOT to learn. I'm still crap
I should have gone inters but it was only my second time there. First time I got 2 sessions before the day was rained off and then this time every session was red flagged, two of the sessions had 2 red flags. It was unbelievable.
