Nah, heading home. Had hoped to catch Stu for a blethering but my tyre is shagged and so am I, so packed up early
Got there after 4 pm and I think you'd headed off. Was about 5 before we were able to have a wander round the garages as the Team Big Lads Awning was massive and took about 10 of us to put it up!StuB said:

Road bike only day at Donnington tomorrow. Just praying the weather stays dry and it should be interesting to see what its like compared to a normal track day. No tyre warmers etc allowed apparently although I'll probably take the mirrors off.
I did the one in August with a few off here. Never again, as its aimed at track newbies. The top group was Inters and it was what I'd call a slow Inters group. I shouldn't have been there as it wasn't targeted at people like me, so it's my fault really.
I was taking it steady as didn't want to drop my bike and was significantly faster than all but a racer and hebegb off here. By significantly I mean upwards of 15 seconds a lap and I was much slower than my track bike lap times.

Stop being modest.I shouldn't have been there as it wasn't targeted at people like me, so it's my fault really.

I'm awesome, just not awesomest
It was a strange day though
Have to admit I am a bit worried that I'll get cut up mid corner by people changing their lines suddenly or out braking themselves but at half the price of a normal day we thought it's worth a go.It was a strange day though
Got everything loaded up ready to go.

Everyone has jumped on my tag line so.....I'm just absolutely fabulous darling.
The Ape is getting it's trial by track and the Duc is getting a thorough workout following some major revisions.
I will return with a new tag line, you'll see.....

You shouldn't have a problem. If you're that much quicker then you'll be past them before anything can happen. Got everything loaded up ready to go.
fking noise limits! Got black flagged for being 0.2db over the limit on one of the straights. One more and I'm off for the day and they're stopping people non stop.
Having to take it easy on the straight and get passed and then having to catch everyone and pass them again is annoying.
Some people should be in the novice group though as they're dangerous the way they brake in places they shouldn't.

Well I managed to not get black flagged again by short shifting down the straight although every time I went past the black flag of doom marshal my ass was puckering up big time!
I dont know if they moved people down to lower groups or just that a lot of people left early but the afternoon sessions were great. The pace was way up and was on par with a fast inters group at a normal track day. I had a brilliant last session against a Daytona, I just wish I didn't have to short shift on the straight otherwise I would have been able to pass him.
