I've booked Oulton park Novice day tomorrow for my first track day. Forecast is 20mph winds and rain, so it'll be a baptism of fire
At least I don't have to ride there as I've hired a bike through Smallboy for the day, so I get a warm drive up at 04:30 tomorrow morning to be there for signing on at 7:30
Quite excited and nervous at the same time
How does it work tomorrow?
Its a car and bike day and I haven't heard of one before.
Presumably bikes out in one session, car chaps (with heater and radio 2 on) out in the next.
Haha, I'd pretty much figured that out! Just wondering if it was cars morning and bikes afternoon or spread sessions?

I believe it's alternating sessions
If it's really grim and I get too cold and wet in the morning, I might see if I can use my car for the afternoon smile

I live down the road and the forecast has been spot on this week sadly.
It will be bloody cold and bloody wet, 95+% chance of rain.

Get some of those latex gloves and put them under your main gloves and change them each session. Other than that, ignore the weather and enjoy!

Cheers for the tip. I have some of them in the garage somewhere

I'll be there shortly after 9 Tom.
Look out for Dave, its the same CBR but in red primer, he drives a blue 406 estate, he will be in a garage most likely, he will look out for you.

Bloody English weather. Its been brilliant, bloody brilliant for days in Suffolk and of course Brands (Sat) and Snetterton (Sun) will be a washout.

Pulled Aprillia out of garage, cleaned it, then put it away again. Desperate to ride the bloody thing on a track.

Might take the misses Monster to Brands and Snetterton instead.

Ok no problem I'll keep an eye out for him in the morning when I get there.

I'll be a bit more noticeable with this on my leathers

What group is he in?

Ya its bloody annoying. I may go even if the weather is crap and run wets. I need some back time before I head off to Jerez.
Im watching patiently today. I have wets but tyres are 9 years old. Look ok but not sure whether to chance it. Dont have the spangdooglies until pay day for a new wet set

90% sure Im booking Snett tomorrow but have only got sc's and tyre warmers

Doh. Snett is off my schedule tomorrow. I binned my Duke at Graham Hill on a greasy wet track at Brands today. Duke is a bit of a mess and a little sore myself.

Sorry to hear that but its one of the reasons I give UK track days a miss at this time of year especially if its wet as you know now its just not worth the aggro.

Give me warm sunny days or a complete wet track during the summer anytime.

Thanks CQ, luckily not too bad. Definetely be ok for Jerez and still very sorry not to be seeing you there!

At least my leathers are nicely bedded in now. Hyper will need some TLC...

snigger! Back from Rockingham today with one of my mate's who was 'testing' his new bike prior to Jerez.

Can confirm the test on the tilt switch was succesful.
