Come on then where's the report? How did you find it?Wets on the bike I rented through Smallboy made a surprising amount of grip
I'd not been to oulton before though, so it took about 3 sessions to work my head around it, but it clicked nicely in the afternoon, although by that point it was raining so hard the track was starting to flood
I had a nice wobble at the top of third gear where I aquaplaned a bit and the rear wheel span up causing a bit of a tank slapped, but I kept the throttle open and the bike corrected itself. Needed a short sit down after that though
I'm definitely hooked though, and already looking at Donnington dates in march through NL as its at least a track I'm familiar with, albeit in a car
Hiring the bike in through Matt at Smallboy was really easy and he had all sets of tyres, warmers etc just in case
I reckon I'll definitely carry on with the hiring route this year, and maybe do a couple on my Ducati before deciding if I want to shell out a few grand myself on my own track only bike
Overall, a quality day and I was buzzing in the car the whole 3hrs home
Not sure I'll be expecting a call from any MotoGP teams just yet to sign me up, but I certainly learnt a stload today

This is going to sound like a stupid question....
How do most people get their bikes to trackdays if heading up the night before? My plan was to hire a van, drive up the night before and sleep in the van. But I have realised that I'm probably not going to be able to load the bike on my own without the risk of disaster! I also would need to buy some kind of ramp so it will end up quite expensive. Approx £140 plus fuel
Hiring a trailer would be a much cheaper and easier option, but then I can't really sleep in the car as the bike isn't particularly secure. Donington is quite far from me so I'd have to leave around 3.30am to get there for 7ish if I wasn't going to sleep in the car. Trailer hire is £30 for the weekend.
Does anyone know if they have facilities at donington that I could arrive the night before, put the bike and trailer in a garage then go and sleep in the car?

I'll pm you of a b and b I use near donnie don't want to advertise location and date on a forum.
The guy has a locked garage way that you can fit a couple of trailers in and it's only 30 a night. Very clean and decent rooms and within ten mins of the circuit
I'll do it tomorrow when at work on the PC as it's a bh on the mobile.
Alternatively go in a pack and box them in with cars and pray theyre still there the next day.

Today, I've booked into the No Limits day at Donnington on March the 24th with a hire bike through smallboy again too, so hopefully my familiarity with that track (circa 15 car track days there) will help me get a bit more up to my own speed within the couple of sessions
I'm still buzzing from Saturday, and looking forward to a summer of these now

Let's hope for a dry day, as I've done car track days there before in the wet, and it's like an old ice rink
