So yeah, hopefully didn't ramble too much!

Great report and glad you discovered the fun to be had ! See if you can get a track time slot only with NoLimits for the Sat, Sun, or Mon next week as loads of us will be over there , if you fancy it - let us know and would be good to see you out there !

I'll check tomorrow if I'm working the weekend and I'll give no limits a call if not! I'd love to come meet you all. Maybe no limits would have instructors that spoke English also? biggrin

Worth a go ...may well have spaces for pure track time , and yes, they most definitely do have English speaking instructors , although some could be from far flung Northern towns ,or indeed that there London , so it is more something resembling English......
Good luck !

Paul from nolimits has told me they don't have any space for sat/sun. They're going to let me know if there's any cancellations or anything as I can get there fairly last minute.

Anglesey was great yesterday, a bit cold at times but fine when out on track. The sun didn't stop shining all day, and there was no shortage of grip with supercorsas. I used warmers, you'd be mad not to!

Try again at the end of Saturday. There's a lot of crashers going

A friend of mine was there, in the fast group on a blue R1, he had a good day after a slight whoopsie in the first session.

It looked very uninviting out there on track at Oulton yesterday , much crashing going on indeed.
I guess some must have been enjoying themselves but I was wearing a bob hat in the car and during the stillage filling for Jerez . It was cold. It is cold and I do not understand what the WD40 BSB team were hoping to achieve there, looked like they barely went out from what I saw...anyway fair play to the " time in the saddle" theorists, but no thanks ...
Not yet, in Britain, anyway !
I had planned on popping down for a bit. Plans soon changed after I'd been out with the dogs for a hour.

The pub seemed like the warmer option biggrin

Ok then! So the track in question is Jerez.

Woke up at 6am and went to meet a bunch of people I'd never met in my life to then follow up to Jerez as we were all sharing a garage. (We're all from Gibraltar)
I have just moved to Gibraltar and I was thinking of going to Jerez. Your write up is very helpful smile
What do you do in Gibraltar? I was going to PM you but you don't 'do' PM's... Lol.

Thanks, Stuart.

I am a Powerfully Built Director (is that the correct PH stereotype?). Kidding, how do I turn on pm's then?

Jerez is an awesome track (although I have nothing to base this against) and the track day company I did it with was great. There's another day on the 19th this month I might be going to, the company is cardoso school http://www.cardososchool.com/

But I'm hoping to do their course instead of the open track day as I was so terrible biggrin

Edit: I have possibly turned pm's on. I clicked the "allow members to contact you" option.

Might join you, just need to make sure Duke is either fixed, or Ape survives Jerez.

Booked Jerez for the 19th! This time I booked lessons as I was so terrible last time learning some basics couldn't hurt! I emailed them to ask if they can do them in English as while I speak Spanish fairly ok I'd be more comfortable doing it in English and I got the message back that it's no problem and Luis Cardoso (ex MotoGP rider) can take me out as he speaks the best English... pretty excited now haha. Although I imagine it's much like taking a toddler for a walk to him biggrin

Oh and TheLordJohn I've got your message and will reply asap! Hope you're enjoying the weather, it only gets hotter now! You wait till it's 40 degrees in summer, it's lovely biggrin ha

Anyone here done Castle Combe? It's my local circuit but looks wide and fast and largely non-technical which I'm thinking may not really suited to a 600?

I don't think anyone goes due to it's ridiculous noise tests.

What are the noise test like in UK tracks in comparison to standard exhausts etc? I've read about people with stock bikes failing which just seems odd? Over here in Spain we don't have any noise testing so some people are obnoxiously loud biggrin

That's because people are sensible in Spain and there is no word in Spanish for "NIMBY" (Not In My Backyard). Seems folks in the UK can move house close to a track and then act surprised that they can now hear the track noise. Then these selfish people complain and threaten/take legal action against the track owners.

Each track (or day) can be different, from 105db, to 100db and 98db. There is a static test before you can drive on the track but there is also a drive-by noise meter.
