Anyone here done Castle Combe? It's my local circuit but looks wide and fast and largely non-technical which I'm thinking may not really suited to a 600?
I don't think anyone goes due to it's ridiculous noise tests.
They have a page on their website about which bikes 'generally' do and don't pass http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/trackdays/bike...
They're super strict on it too, and I've seen plenty of people turn up and get rejected for being 0.5db over both on bike and car track days
I've been round there on a bike and in a car, and although it's fast, it's pretty boring as it's right turns all the way apart from the two chicanes and a little left into quarry
Camp corner is very fast, and there's not much run off either
If you're local, it's a good close track day, and you can head up there in advance and get them to test the noise on your bike just to be sure
My experience on tracks on bike is super limited, but there's lot more fun to be had on other circuits with more corners

I took the shock from my Thunderace to Gareth at Reactive suspension today and his first response was oh my god. It's in pretty bad condition and he isn't sure whether it will be ready before my track days at the end of the month.

If I don't get it back in time this will be my new track bike;

I really hope it's ready.

You'll be the only man at the track that can stop half way round to get a sandwich out his top box though smile

No after the original let go I put a second hand Ohlins shock on the bike. It's alright but clearly old and well used. I probably would have left it even longer if the rebound adjuster hadn't seized over the winter. I'm a bit pissed off that it might not be ready but it all depends on if the parts from Ohlins are on back order or not.

Either way I've got 3 track days at the end of the month and I'll be using one of my bikes. Although it'd be funny on the divvy I'd really rather not use it.

I've done Silverstones GP circuit a couple of times and Rockingham once, but all a few years ago now. I figured it's a local track so no need to hire a van etc and a nice wide track to get back into it. Also I won't have had the bike long (collecting tomorrow) so would be a good test for it. I'll pop down beforehand to get it tested though, thanks for the advice smile

I think it would be hilarious. Maybe I should buy a 1K commuter with a top box for Trackdays.

do it give us hope.

I know we are all joking but I've seen a guy try to go out with a bum bag and one with his top box still on.

If my shock doesn't come back in time then it will be happening. It'll be terrible but funny whilst it wobbles around.

The shock probably couldn't cope with all the extra downforce that the luggage rack was providing wink

Looking at the diversion has made me realise that I really want another bike to commute on, I really need more time on a bike to improve my riding.

Anyone want a space in novice at donington 24th of this month? £100, figured it's better for someone else to have it cheap than just cancel it.
I can't go anymore.
