How much? Roughly how long are you getting out of them. I've never met you before so no idea of your pace but I'm sure I'm faster....
Two days for a rear and three for a front. Everyone's faster than me
I guess a bigger factor is when you change. I've seen lads change theirs the second it gets down to the indicators.

When it feels squared off, or not right. Others run them far lower, but I'd rather spend a couple of hundred on tyres than repairing a bike or me. I guess a bigger factor is when you change. I've seen lads change theirs the second it gets down to the indicators.

The bike came with some scrubbed Dunlop Slicks but I fancied some treaded tyres as I feared Brands would be damp so I put some new Diablo Supercorsas on it. TBH, they haven't inspired allot of confidence yet but that's probably as a result of them being new and it being damp.
Where's the sweet-spot for wear Vs grip - be it treaded or slicks? Stef, the tyre guy at most NL days swears by continental tyres for being grippy, hard wearing and reasonably priced. Anyone used?

They felt comparable to be Honest, but it was tough to tell as the Conti's were pretty worn when I switched to new slicks
I'll run them for a few days and see how they feel, and if I'm feeling flush, I'll replace them with Supercorsa's again
The Conti's were good, but I only got them as that was all IDP had when I needed them changing. £250pr fitted is decent value too

I use supercorsa's. Run them at 33 front and 26 rear (hot) and put them on a dry track. You can't expect any track tyre to be very good in the damp.
The trackday slick that Pirelli sell will last for ages but I found it let go without warning and I know lots of other people who hated it. Nobody I know has ever worn one out before they replaced it for something else.
wow I was a fair bit out then - I was running 27 front, 30 rear (hot). The trackday slick that Pirelli sell will last for ages but I found it let go without warning and I know lots of other people who hated it. Nobody I know has ever worn one out before they replaced it for something else.
I've not heard of running a front as high as that hot but will give it a go on the next dry day. How many days do you get out of a front / rear SC, at somewhere in the UK on a dry day Vs somewhere like Jerez / Almeria etc?
Thanks
You really don't want less than 30 in your front when hot. I prefer it a little higher as it buckles less under braking and gives more support, plus it also steers quicker.

Yes I switched from Pirelli to Conti and its exactly what you just said. I prefer pirelli as they give more feel on the back when it starts to let go. You get a skip/hop as it starts to step out where as the Conti just goes. It did it to me twice at Cadwell (Got the video on youtube on the second slide) and you MUST run a lower pressure on the ContiWhere's the sweet-spot for wear Vs grip - be it treaded or slicks? That being said its what I run now, they 100% last longer and maintain the same grip right to the end

Yep thats what I run on the rear at the moment (Conti) I had Pirelli Supercorsa SC1 front which was amazing and SC2 rear again really good but died quickThey felt comparable to be Honest, but it was tough to tell as the Conti's were pretty worn when I switched to new slicks

As said before its a track day not racing. Know the limits of a conti endurance and you are fine. If I push much harder I might want to look at a medium or Conti slick which are similar priced

Which of the other slicks have you tried ?The trackday slick that Pirelli sell will last for ages but I found it let go without warning and I know lots of other people who hated it. Nobody I know has ever worn one out before they replaced it for something else.
I see conti do a race attack slick and the dunlops seem to be popular too
