Good man.
How awesome are proper wets
Words cannot describe just how good they really are. How awesome are proper wets
I was sat in the briefing room, in walk two guys in my group (inters), you've seen the photos, the track was a few degrees if your lucky and soaking but it wasn't raining. "its too dry for wets, we will gum them up, best going out on slicks"
As GWM says a lot of crashes happened with guys in the novice on full wets.
A) tyre warmers on before they went out then cooling
B) Not giving the tyres enough laps to warm up
or
C) and I think this is most likely the cause, the pace car caused it. Let me explain, a Seat went out for two laps, no idea if the guy was pushing or not but the traffic behind was pedestrian. It obviously did this to stop people going out and pushing too hard, but it had the opposite effect. You were going so slow your tyres and brakes weren't up to temperature. so you'd need another lap or maybe two to do so. A lot came off right after the car went in.

Oh great, I'll drop him a message. Shame about your brother, I just bought this place off someone else who can't make it because he's ill, I should have asked here first.
Can you not be tempted into taking your brother's place?
I did umm and aah about it but really couldn't be bothered with the drive over sadly. Sorry! Can you not be tempted into taking your brother's place?
Shame as it would have been good to catch up.
Enjoy the day.
Is it quite bad down south today.
There was one cancelled last night at Knockhill and it's not surprising really with all the rain from the weekend
Yeah it was a bit st but the wind was ridiculous. The van was all over the place on the way there. Once there it was a pain in the arse getting set up.
To be honest NL did their best but I didn't fancy going out once there as it would have been no fun.
A bit annoyed at the wasted money but no drama at least we didn't go out and crash plus there's the credit to use another day.

It was only cancelled this morning?
I think it'd have to be a snowpocalypse before Knockhill cancelled a day. Pays your money and takes your chances.
They cancelled one last night, but it was biblical the rain around here, add all that from the weekend it was probably flooded in parts. I think it'd have to be a snowpocalypse before Knockhill cancelled a day. Pays your money and takes your chances.
I know of 2 people who have had their front end lifted off the track by the wind while fully cranked over.
One almost shat himself but managed to get the front back down (Snetterton)
The other one shat himself when he started adding the cost of the repairs up (Aragon)
Can catch you out when you least expect it

Well, as gutted as I was to miss KH with mtb, jerez was pretty damn good.
Roughly 30 degrees for all 3 days, lots of old faces to catch up with and a few new faces to meet for the first time (including 'freak' from PHBB)
I had some bike handling issues, as I stuck a new rear linkage in the ZX10R over the winter and I didn't get on with it all. Despite that, I managed to beat my best ever lap and go sub 1.50 with a 1.49.6 so absolutely over the moon with that.
I've got a couple of videos and pictures to upload when I get home, including a scary near miss from someone dawdling on the back straight at 50mph whilst I was exiting turn 5 at 120mph with the front wheel in the air

Just spoke to Aky and he did a decent time too. Did you see Greg go arse over tit?Roughly 30 degrees for all 3 days, lots of old faces to catch up with and a few new faces to meet for the first time (including 'freak' from PHBB)

Managed a bit of work today. Rubbing down, priming rubbing painting rubbing painting then spent the evening picking black bogeys which was delightful.
It's actually been fun learning how to remove everything so far. The stand is probably the best bit about the bike.
Not the best job but getting there. Needs lacquering then the old relentless Suzuki sticker set.
Probably won't last long but Its a cheap track toy so as long as it looks ok from 20ft whilst squinting in the rain then I'll be happy.
