If all goes to plan and I can get it ready in time I'll be on a 98 Fireblade. If not I'll be on an my usual RSV R Mille and my lad will be on Scotts old Lava Red R1. I generally get there around 4ish and I think we're both in the Inters/fast group
What sort of track time do you get on an evening session at brands? I'm tempted to book as I can leave work early on Thursday. What time does it end?patchb said:

Saturday it was reverse, I quite enjoyed the reverse. I've done it once before and never really got on with it.
Its bloody strange doing a track the opposite way around. You look for braking points and references that you normally use without thinking but they aren't there anymore. I kept going into the hairpin and sticking my right knee out for almost all morning because I was that used to going the correct way.
Needless to say it pissed it down.
It did clear up in the last few sessions but typically by the time it came to go out it started to rain again so I never saw a dry track all day really.
Sunday it was the correct way. I looked at the forecast and it said dry until lunch....however the track was soaked. Some one crashed in novice and caused a 45 minute delay due to oil on the first few laps of the day.
I got two damp sessions before it chucked it down. And it did so for the rest of the day. I cant express how fking wet it was.

Weather like that would seriously dampen my enthusiasm Saturday it was reverse, I quite enjoyed the reverse. I've done it once before and never really got on with it.

I was tempted with Oulton today, but yesterday's weather put me off. Glad I did, as it's chucking it down and I can think of better ways of spending £150.
TBH, I like the rain, I just don't like two days of it. I'm not fast in it but I enjoy it. New wets made such a difference. I was into the 1m04's in that, when you sit back and think that Mackenzie in the super sports was doing a 54's consistently around there the mind boggles, how the fk does he do it. Even Sam Cox on a super sport 675 was doing 58's, id never touch that, ever. I know I was out with them all a few weeks ago and couldn't believe the speed of them but I've even more admiration for them now.

Sam's quick. I was out on track with him a few times a couple of years ago and he was going through everyone like they were standing still. If he hadn't crashed so much in the last year of the TTC, he'd have been right up there challenging for the title. His tip was brilliant though. Stop chasing 5 seconds a lap, just chase 0.25 secs into and out of every corner. Not that I could do it!
I used to enjoy riding in the wet, but have struggled since I highsided myself to the moon at Donny in the 6 hour race two years ago.
Just booked Oulton for 3rd August. Only my third day on track this year and first at Oulton. That's weird, mas I'd normally have done 10+ by now just at at Oulton.

Just arrived at Donny, and although forecast is rain, we might get a couple of dry sessions in first (fingers crossed)
Not a great day an Donny today after all. It drizzled through the sighting laps, and then the first session was red flagged after someone had their brake seize on in the first corner. Then the drizzle returned and eventually turned to heavy rain.I was touch and go whether I was going to even go today as I've got shed loads on at work this week, so by 11:30 I'd packed my van up and headed home.
The only plus point of today was that the M42 was nice and quiet at lunchtime and I managed door to door in 2hrs flat on the way home
I had the suspension on my bike sorted out and serviced by Mark at MH racing near chippenham, and for the limited amount of laps I did today, it felt night and day to before. Also, I fitted a quicker cam to the QA throttle I have on my bike and I can now get a full twist without having to regrab it and twist it further due to my wrist which I've broken a few times over the years and doesn't bend as much as it perhaps should
I'm at Oulton next Wednesday with No limits if anyone else is going ?
I need to get some lap practice in before MTB makes me look even slower than normal at the two Dayer in August

Sorry to hear you had such bad luck with the weather
Being England, what do you usually do if it rains? Tough it out as long as it isn't too heavy?
I have wets and I'd normally just switch them over, but I've got loads on this week, so I just cut my losses and headed home Being England, what do you usually do if it rains? Tough it out as long as it isn't too heavy?
