If you can't reposition it so the front lip sits further back, you can always just dremmel it out, and fibreglass a new shape into it to give yourself more clearance
Realistically, you want >20mm gap there
Also you'll never get a tyre warmer on with that gap. I'd go for the cut out and re-fibreglass option if it fits well everywhere else

Yeah I've got fibreglass, can always move the frame mounting points forward on the fairings so it clears the wheel more. On the winter worklist! biggrin

Are you good enough to use it? There's a lot of people on here saying they are, based on the Big Bang R1 thread.

I don't think it'd be that hard to ride TBH. Whether anyone could do it justice, is another question all together
Seems a bit steeply priced for a bike that's done two hard seasons, cost £62k to build, and they now want £42k for it

I would have thought it would be worth more with it's old Milwaukee bodywork on it?

There's a few old BSB R1's knocking around asking that money. Hizzy's 02 Virgin bike and Camier's Airwaves 09 model are seemingly permanent features on eBay and failing to sell.

Has anyone been to Parcmotor circuit? Looks good from what I've seen so far, tempted to go next year. Are there any other TDOs going apart from NL too?

Cheers, hadn't even heard of them. Was hoping there would be one a bit sooner, am hoping to do the NoLimits 1000 Cup next year so can't go from May-October

Excellent !
Good luck with that - you'll do well in there George , judging by your pace at Anglesey when I saw you out last !
I may join you for a round or two - outside of the very very definite few rounds of Endurance , with a team revolving around myself, Fleegle and Loon , plus AN other when we may do two twos but with a 6 and 8 HR on the books - 3 of us once or twice ...
Maybe see you on an earlier Euro - I've not yet got a plan in place cos I'm messing about with 2 strokes at the moment - out tomorrow again on the Enduro bike - day off !

It's not far from Barcelona, a lot further north than the typical Jerez, Almeria & Cartagena, so they probably have to get most of the winter over before they can get the great weather

I'm going to do a few rounds of the NoLimits Metzeler newcomer thou's next year, and most likely a couple of the endurance rounds too.
I see they're running the 1000km at Donington for the first time, but with entries opening tomorrow, they're likely to sell out pretty quickly, and I believe you have to enter the whole series to enter tomorrow, whereas you enter 8 weeks in advance if you just want to pick and choose which races to go for, so not sure there'll be any 1000km slots left for us. I guess we'll wait and see
I'm certainly looking at Oulton, Silverstone and Donington rounds

Cheers, hopefully won't be any big off's like last time you saw me either! Still need to fully get to grips with the Fireblade but am going out to Almeria in February with a few superstock 1000 lads so hopefully they'll be able to help drag me along a bit biggrin
I'll see you in the paddock then - I'm doing every round except Silverstone, Brands and Snetterton.
Saw the enduro on the other thread, looks a good laugh thumbup

Back at the hotel now after a day on andalucia circuit. Maybe I'm alone in this opinion, but I didn't think much of it at all
It's an odd circuit with loads of undulations and something like 23 corners. Many of them with decreasing radius
It might just have been me, but it really just doesn't seem to flow and appears to be made up of every type of corner imaginable, but just thrown in for the sake of having a corner there
Got a day off tomorrow, then on Almeria on Thursday/Friday, although the forecast is now showing rain frown

I thought that after my first day there but when I got to grips with which way it went I loved it. The first section is awesome, as are some of the other corners like the triple right at the end of the back straight. Probably more suited to a 600 though.

What sort of money is the total cost for a 3-day to Spain assuming the bike is sent ahead?
I am wondering what sort of money you guys blow on this in a year.

From a few pages back. I hasten to add, you can do it for allot less than this.

Last weekend in Portimao would have looked a bit like this:

£699 - Trackdays, hotel, bike transport
£320 - Wet Tyres (though you could argue that this can't be 100% attributed to this weekend, as they still have loads of tread left and had I have already had some wets, I wouldn't have needed to buy some
£130 - 1 Rear Tyre (though again, I tend to use rears over between 3 and 5 days and the one I had on over the weekend did 1 day at Brands, 2 days at Snett and 2 days at Portimao as the wets did a day / half a day)
£30 - Share of the hire car
£38 - Fuel for the hire car
£25 - Repatriation medical insurance
£80 - Hire of Jerry can and purchase of fuel for bike
£300 - Day tuition with Peter Hickman (Obv no one "needs" to do this but it was a one off treat)
£80 - Van hire to drop bikes off
£129 - Van hire to collect bikes
£70 - Diesel for vans
£80 - Evening Meals out
£100 - Beer
£30 - Lunches
£150 - Flights
£20 - Gatwick express

Am sure there are other things I am missing but you get the idea (the Van hire / fuel for bike and van is a big cost that doesn't generally get considered)
