Yeah, I agree, it's silly money
I'm going racing on that bike this year, so really hope I can find a cheaper solution to getting it sorted rather than having to spend that much
Bike goes into JHS racing next week when it gets back to the UK, and hopefully, we can look at a shimming option, which hopefully will make the gearbox need less time between rebuilds than every few months as this is getting pricey and the reliability of ZX10R boxes could be a pointer to me stripping the bike, and selling it in bits to fund something different. The problem is, I prefer the ZX10R to the new R1 or S1000RR, which are the only real alternatives
Who are you going racing with Graeme?

Here's a few more pics from last week. I'm in bed at home now with proper man flu, so that perhaps explains why I was so tired after three days on track, whereas I've ridden three and four day events before without feeling knackered at all. This time, my legs feel like I've just raced an Ironman again
The perks of getting old smile

I did a days Tuition with Simon Crafer of Motovudoo, which was really good and well worth the cash

This one is from when it rained, so on wets. It was actually a lot wetter than it looks, but luckily the spanish sun dried the track out within about 3 sessions. Although I do actually prefer riding in the wet some times as long as it's properly wet

See how it goes financially - a friend and I are looking at doing a few rounds on our 750s in the same newcomers as you. He has already done the ACU induction and is booked for the track bit too where as Im skint so said I'll have to try a later date

I've been checking lap times and the tracks I've been to and think I should do ok all being well even on the 750

It'll be a selector gone on that Kawasaki.
Does you think he should have selected a Yamaha instead?

get the box sent to MSS if you want it fixed, or to Nova if you want it upgraded. You don't need to do the full box, they do a replacement gearset for under a grand. Tell them I sent you

JHS can't look at it until March anyway, so I'll give MSS a call this morning
I know when I spoke with mss previously that they can supply and fit nova parts, so I guess the first job is gor thrnto pull the cassette out and see what the damage is

Just phoned mss, and bike goes into them next Wednesday
I've got a massive list of things that need doing, largely electrical gremlins and a loom tidy up, and I'll get it run up on the dyno at the same time to check the mapping as I have no idea of the origin of the Ecu flash, so I'll get them to check that too

I don't think you should be doing track days without protection, you should always wrap up.

Cool, be good to see you out there
I went online and starting checking lap times at Oulton, and started seriously worrying until i realised they raced on the Island circuit last year smile

Haha Yeh that's a bit of an error there! I mainly compared mine to the pre 2002 class and pre injection as my bike was a 2001

Surprisingly quick still and comparing to newcomer 600 class the pre 2002 were quicker at times

It's not just the Isalnd circuit that messed with times last year though. It was very cold and most races were run either in the wet, or with a massive downpour part way through the races.

Get them to replace the fuel pump filter, it's only about £40 pets plus an hours labour. They are very prone to fouling up, especially when you're pouring fuel in from potentially dirty Jerry cans on euro trips. I do mine every winter.

Cheers, I'll add that onto the ever expanding list smile
This is going to be an expensive trip

If you add MSS on facebook, they usually have other great ways to spend some of your cash biggrin

I bet you never thought you needed your injectors cleaned and balanced until you see there picture

Don't get me looking at stuff like that, as I've already told the wife the replacement bit for my gearbox is only going to be around £50 plus labour and it's a simple fix smile

My gearbox needed a new 2nd gear cog at £40 and a selector fork at £66. Plus an hours labour for both removal and refitting. Hopefully you get away as cheaply.
