I'll be at db for 10 maybe just before. I'm out with a couple local lads. One of which is a bit of a hot head/ liability so I'll just do my own thing with him. Don't want to introduce a burden and I know how to keep him in check. Well stop at db for a bit for a brew and a chin wag but then I'll probably head straight to hartside. Jazoli, yours and loons pace will kill him and he's a bit of a donkey when it comes to trying to follow people so I'll just take him up there at a slower pace.

hehe yes its been a while, Tim don't worry about your mate, I'm happy enough pottering, I've only been out a couple of times and not up to warp speed yet anyway wink I don't know if Loon is coming yet and I'm really in no rush but it'd be nice to get out with others.

Just got in from my weekend of night shifts and having a couple of beers, so definitely won't be at DB (or anywhere else!) this morning. Have a good time guys.

Rather than spend all day out on the bike in this lovely weather, I've been ordered to attend a child's birthday party. Joys.

I'll probably be heading out for a local-ish ride with Mastodon2 and castex if they're still heading out later.

It's almost definitely on for us. Cloud coverage is about 50-60% here but it doesn't look like rain, forecast looks good. I'll send castex a text to confirm he is in, and if it's on I'll text you and sort a meeting point to get you.

Well this is how my day went. You know that friend that I said is a liability....

Queue one very scary moment of seeing him in my mirror flying through the air like some sort of weird hairy dolphin breaching and ending up face first in a stream whilst the bike hit the metal fence. Very lucky could of been seriously bad.
I feel exhausted, had a great day up untill then. Left the house at 8am just walked in after having to race back get my trailer then go all the way back to help him.

Oops ... Is that a bandit or just what is left of a sportsbike?

I headed up over Grassington and around Skipton on some new roads that a mate knows well ... Got the new rear scrubbed in nicely and although a little stiff at first, soon relaxed and enjoyed the road ...

Had a go on my mates K7 GSXR750 that's been fettled and I was pretty impressed with it ... Great bike and so easy to ride quickly. He was blown away with the power of the Fireblade hehe but on some of the roads we rode the blade did feel more planted.

However, after riding the GSXR with a quickshifter I now NEED one! biggrin

From what you were saying, he's had it coming!
At least it was a relatively 'gentle' outcome, he can use it was a warning now.
Is he a st rider, out of interest? Or is he just a bit full on too much of the time?

Yeah it was wet at this point as well. I think I forget that I do a lot more miles than him plus the odd track day so although I'm not The fastest, compared to him when I feel like I'm just pottering Hes pushing on.
It was on the road between hawes and devils bridge literally about half way. When it was wet earlier he just let me go off and I'd wait for him but as it dried I think he just pushed to hard I saw him in my mirrors run wide on one corner and this one is a tricky left hander as I went round I slowed down and waited to make sure he caught up and then he just came round the corner in the air. Somehow he very luckily missed the fence post and small dry stone wall and just ended up in the little stream his bike skidded into the fence.
It was a bandit 12. The 'expensive' bits survived ie engine/frame/forks but the bars and everything attached, full exhaust, single light with small screen, foot rest and foot controls, tank all are in bits or dented badly.

Very scary to see happen to a good friend but unfortunately not something I'm massively surprised about I just wish I'd thought more and gone slower. Still he's ok so that's the main thing. I had a brilliant ride up until then and quite a ride back to huddersfield afterwards although probably a bit wreckless after what had just happened.
