NW KREW '15 ride outs, banter and man love from Loon

Oh well st happens, luckily bandit parts are cheap and plentiful on ebay, its not really your fault for going too fast is it, it does worry me riding with people of mixed abilities, that's why I'm glad Yazza doesn't currently have a road bike main thing is your mate wasn't hurt, and will hopefully learn from this as it could have been a lot worse, there's been a couple of blokes on bikes killed round here over the last couple of weeks, as happens every year.

The main road near my house has been like a race track all weekend. I think they all caught ive been to Oulton and now im a BSB rider syndrome. I was walking the dogs before and a group of about 10 - 12 came past, properly on it. God knows how fast they were going but i imagine at that point accelerating from the lights as they did they cant of been far off 150 as they went past me and they kept on going.
All well and good in the right place and the right time. The road was pretty busy just wasn't safe to be doing that.

Yeah it was wet at this point as well. I think I forget that I do a lot more miles than him plus the odd track day so although I'm not The fastest, compared to him when I feel like I'm just pottering Hes pushing on.
It was on the road between hawes and devils bridge literally about half way. When it was wet earlier he just let me go off and I'd wait for him but as it dried I think he just pushed to hard I saw him in my mirrors run wide on one corner and this one is a tricky left hander as I went round I slowed down and waited to make sure he caught up and then he just came round the corner in the air. Somehow he very luckily missed the fence post and small dry stone wall and just ended up in the little stream his bike skidded into the fence.
It was a bandit 12. The 'expensive' bits survived ie engine/frame/forks but the bars and everything attached, full exhaust, single light with small screen, foot rest and foot controls, tank all are in bits or dented badly.
Very scary to see happen to a good friend but unfortunately not something I'm massively surprised about I just wish I'd thought more and gone slower. Still he's ok so that's the main thing. I had a brilliant ride up until then and quite a ride back to huddersfield afterwards although probably a bit wreckless after what had just happened.
Having met said person I wouldn't worry about any of it being your fault. He seems to be good at crashing anything at any time anywhere! It was on the road between hawes and devils bridge literally about half way. He managed some fairly spectacular crashes even on mini moto's!

Queue one very scary moment of seeing him in my mirror flying through the air like some sort of weird hairy dolphin breaching and ending up face first in a stream whilst the bike hit the metal fence. Very lucky could of been seriously bad.
fking hell, that could have been nasty if the bike went in the stream and he went into the gate. Is the bike bent or was it not possible to tell at the roadside? He needs to give his head a wobble, that could have been a very serious accident. He is a very lucky guy to end up landing in the stream - probably the best place, and the smallest spot - he couldn't do it again.
Perhaps he needs some stories to scare him into keeping a cooler head - I hope coming out of that fine has not made him think crashing isn't the end of the world - it so easily could have been there.
I came off in town in a 20 limit, being fairly sensible, trying to avoid a car pulling out of a side road, and managed to break 7 ribs, my neck and more. Now I wear a Leatt brace and ride much differently indeed.

Apparently from end of next week it's supposed to be getting very warm ... Temperatures above 25deg so they say!
