Does anyone know of places Surrey way to rent a bike for the day? Am heading there for the weekend with wife and sprog and got the chance to hook up with mate who rides while wife does in-law stuff on the Sat. (And means I can escape the FIL from hell)

I've used these guys before, they are right near the Top Gear site/track, they're very laid back and friendly with all manner of interesting bikes to hire rather than just a UJM.

I live in Carshalton. Every time I have visited the shop I feel left very wanting, which is a real shame as I only live 5 mins walk away from the shop. They have lost out on 2 brand new purchases in the last 3 years, not to mention regular servicing and of course clothing and parts

That's really strange and disappointing, sorry to hear that matey . Still good news is I'm 10 mins up the road and we can meet up for a coffee or a box hill run smile

Cheers all for the recommendations, and the side conversations wink

I spoke to Keith from Roadtrip, gutted as he has an 899 Panigale for hire but he's still getting sorted for the season so no go. Nice bloke though and definitely one to keep note of for the future.

Similar opinion here. I live 10 min down the road in Sutton and when I took my mate down there to buy kit (a few years back) he was enthusiastic and about to get an R125, they were quite off with me an just criticised the kit I had on and just really rolled their eyes at him wanting to try on different bits of kit. He bought there, but don't think he'll be going back.

Why do Bike dealers do this?

I went in to Doble's on my old Blackbird to trade for a Blade. It was just a discussion but I didnt get the service I expected from Mike Doble. So I went to Blade Honda and bought a my Blade.

Saying that... as I was buying my blade my mate wanted a new CB1000R and Blade didnt really give him the time. So he wen to Dobles and got a better deal and bought from them!

I took a mate to Inmoto to buy a new ZX10R and the sales people wouldnt give us the time of day and they werent welcoming to him. So off we went and he bought a RSV of someone else.

Its weird.

Sorry for the side talk OP.
